Possible brother for Seth

Expecting baby number 2 (we don't know the sex yet). We're 100% decided on Emilia for a girl, but are struggling with a boy as we already have Seth, which has always been our number 1 boy's name.

I like Jesse, and Freddie (the latter less so as it's SO popular where I am) but I'm looking for one I'm as sure about as Emilia. The complication with Jesse is that my sister is Jessica.

I also really like Jude but a close friend of DH's has used that so it's out.

Any suggestions?

Jesse is a nice family thread without necessarily being a direct tribute. My uncle gave his kid the same name as my dad but used a different nickname (think Alexander = Alex and Sandy, but not that) and was at pains to tell him he was NOT naming the kid directly after him. ha.

I'm strongly in favour of @Bibesia's suggestion - the best thing is that once you have a Seth and a Reuben, if you ever have a girl you'll get to call her Elfine.

Personally I think Jesse is just lovely.

What does OT stand for, out there? I don't think Seth is particularly out there, it's not as "normal" as the likes of Thomas/William/James etc I guess. I like it because it's not common but not too "unusual".

Thanks all I think you've helped me cement that Jesse is the way to go! DH prefers Freddie but does like Jesse and tbh I think I should have final say as both babies will have his surname, plus pregnancy, childbirth etc etc!

Go with Jesse! It’s gorgeous and it’s your favourite. Freddie is overused where I am too.

Don't let your sisters name put you off Jesse. My DS and sister have identical sounding names - think Joe/Jo and it doesn't bother anyone.

So we found out the sex of DC2 today and it's a boy!

Jesse is totally my front runner, thanks all who gave their comments I've persuaded DH as well, he doesn't love it like I do but other than Seth (DS1) there's no name he "loves" and he's agreed I should get final say as they'll both have his surname (as do I!).

I also like Ezra now, so that's on the list, but I suspect it'll be Jesse. Gone off Freddie now.
