Brother for Rumer and Sage

Expecting my third and we’ve settled on a girl’s name but just can’t think of anything for a boy.
My daughter was Rumer and my son is Sage. I like unusual names that aren’t top 500 or so

So far I like Job (DH won’t go for it and slated on here)
We both liked Atlas but we know one so probably not
We do like Quinn but it is popular. Also Pip but not sure about Philip.

Ideas would be welcome. Unisex names a bonus.

Some good suggestions on here. Will be running them by DH when he wakes up (night shift)

Not offended by the negative comments at all. They are slightly weird names and I suspect Sage will get Sage and Onion (we liked it because of wisdom connotations) certainly it was the first reaction of two boys on the train when told Sage’s name.

Rumer was going to be Nell but we knew chances were she’d die before she was born so would probably end up known only by the full name (Elinor) and I don’t like short forms as full names really hence my worry about Pip. (She lived three months in the end)

Can’t reveal my girls names (we have two) as my sister is on here but one is the goddess of chaos and the other is from a book about a girl with red hair.

So sorry about your daughter, OP.
If you like the wisdom thing, how about Socrates, Pericles or Plato. Or Cato? They’re my classical suggestions 😊

Sorrel is pretty.

Waggily · 25/07/2018 03:20

OP, I totally get that you mean about wanting a longer name. I also really liked Pip during my first pregnancy but couldn't find a “grown up” name to go with it so didn’t use it. My second son was born very early and didn't Make it, so Pip was the perfect name for him as he would never have to worry about being a grown up.

Naming children is so hard.

NonaGrey · 25/07/2018 03:41

OP we are so on the same naming wavelength I think!

We have a Bodhi and also considered Atlas for his name. Currently 39+4 with his sister and still torn for ideas!

Shockers · 25/07/2018 08:26

Flowers for Waggily and the OP.

If you like Quinn but it’s too popular why not go for a longer name with Quinn as a nn.
