How popular is Chloe at the moment?

I know it's been popular for a while but is it still really popular? I'm having twin girls and have decided the first born will be named Imogen, we're still a little unsure about the second. We were thinking about using Chloe with our oldest but decided not to. Yet I've always really liked the name

I only know of one Chloe under five.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/07/2018 13:25

According to baby centre it is the 15th most popular girls name
However IRL I've not heard of a baby Chloe for years.
It's a nice name. I'd go for it. Even with the most obscure name in the world you're taking a risk that there might be more than one in a class

tryingtocatchthewind · 13/07/2018 13:36

The youngest Chloe I know is 9 so I'm surprised it's as high as 15 in the charts.

KiplingAngelCake · 13/07/2018 13:38

It doesn't seem to be massively popular atm. There's one in DCs school (6yrs) and I know a 16yr called Chloe. Great name.

userofthiswebsite · 13/07/2018 13:40

It's one of my preferred names.

3dogsandcounting · 13/07/2018 13:42

I don’t know any young Chloes. I know a couple of Imogens but both names are not hugely common. Sound lovely together.

For accurate info based on England and Wales government data:

names.darkgreener.com/

It shows trends as well as yearly popularity ranking.

Chloe was 23 in 2016, the last year for which government figures have been published

I don't see Chloe as popular now. It was in the 90's, very much like Olivia and Amelia is now.

It's a pretty name.

RoboJesus · 13/07/2018 15:06

It's rising due to its use in video games

TroubledLichen · 13/07/2018 15:08

I like it! I know a few but they’re all in their teens or older.

MummytoCSJH · 13/07/2018 15:14

I'm a Chloe - I'm 20. Haven't met anyone younger than me with the same name!

Mousefunky · 13/07/2018 16:05

All the Chloe’s I went to school with were twats so I’m massively put off the name because of that Grin. There’s one in DD (7) class.

Beehiveyourself · 13/07/2018 16:10

Don’t know anyone called Chloe and never have. I’m quite surprised by that!

Lovely name.

daisypond · 13/07/2018 18:23

I know one Chloe who's 24 and two others who are both 19. I don't know any younger ones.

probablyhangry · 13/07/2018 21:47

I used to work in a secondary school a few years ago, there were so many Chloe's there but I wasn't sure whether the popularity had died down a bit. I don't want to pick a name that's a bit outdated or will become outdated soon enough but I don't want her to have the same name as 5 other girls in her class

I know one under five.

I like Imogen & Chloe together, they go well.

Joeybee · 13/07/2018 23:15

It's fairly popular if you look at naming charts...however I don't know where all these Chloe's are as I don't know any baby Chloe's, nor have I heard of any! I think it is a lovely name that's both sweet, but not cutesy.

Belindabauer · 14/07/2018 08:27

I don't think it's as popular now as it once was.

MrsMozart · 14/07/2018 08:33

Lovely name. Both are and go very well together.

Kit10 · 14/07/2018 08:41

I remember it being popular in the 90s, haven't heard of a baby Chloe in a long time.
