I love the name Finn I wanted to use this name but DH doesn’t like it x

ImanaveragepersonAMA · 03/07/2018 22:59

Theodore!

I think of fish when I head Finn

AlyTab · 03/07/2018 23:00

I would go with Finn. I just don't like the name Theodore.

timeisnotaline · 03/07/2018 23:01

I like both. I have a Finn (finley) :)

Fadingmemory · 03/07/2018 23:02

Finn

TwinkleToes86 · 03/07/2018 23:09

Theodore!!

Finn is very overused and is now boring because of that. Whilst Theodore may be popular, it's still classic.

Tigger001 · 03/07/2018 23:13

I have a Theodore, but he gets called Theo and I love both, although hubby not keen on full title of Theodore. I hadn't heard it used much before we chose it and everyone I speak to knows a Theo, so it may be quite common when he reaches school, which is a bit disappointing but I still love it

Phyllispontypandy · 03/07/2018 23:31

Finn

Peachbubble · 04/07/2018 06:54

Finn. I used to like Theo, but it's become so popular now, I've gone off it a bit. I like Finn, but not Finley/Finlay.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/07/2018 06:57

Finn

sonnyboo · 04/07/2018 07:13

Both Finn and Theo are very common and I feel, overused. But if those are the only names you love, I'd choose Theodore

pilates · 04/07/2018 07:19

Definitely Finn, strongly dislike Theodore

BarbaraWarpecker · 04/07/2018 07:27

Prefer Theo to Theodore. Finn is nice too but Theo nicer.

DeckSofa · 04/07/2018 07:39

Theodore

LawDegreeBarbie · 04/07/2018 07:43

Theodore. I hate Finn (personal preference).

Discotits · 04/07/2018 07:45

Theo

redmini4 · 04/07/2018 13:57

I like Theodore but prefer Finn.

MikeUniformMike · 04/07/2018 14:34

I really don't like Theodore. It looks like The Odour and seems very American. How about Theophilus?
Theo on it's own is OK but very popular.
Finn is great but is likely to be very popular and it's a naughty boy's name.

Both names are likely to be very popular. On baby name charts Theo and Theodore appear separately, and Finn, Finley, Findlay and Finlay will be treated separately.

LucyFox · 04/07/2018 22:16

Finn sounds too trendy & nicknamey for me .. Theodore is ok (Theo or Teddy?) but there are other names with a similar feel that you may like too ...

Joeybee · 04/07/2018 22:40

Theodore is a more rounded, full, versatile name.
I do like Finn too, but rather as a nickname for Finlay, Finnegan...something like that.

crazymumtothree · 10/07/2018 22:52

We have a Theodore, much choice for nicknames if you like that - ted, Theo, teddy, I still really adore his name and we only know of two other much younger friends that called their sons because they liked it so much! He is nearly 9 now and we hadn't heard it before he was born!

DaniCam89 · 10/07/2018 23:22

I love Theodore. Theo or Teddy as a nickname are both adorable.

Alwaysfubar · 11/07/2018 15:09

I really dislike Theo / Theodore...mainly because I honestly dislike any name that appears in charts or is fashionable.

For me the name should be appropriate for the child and the surname and should still be okay in 20 / 30 / 40 years!!

Arum51 · 11/07/2018 15:12

Theodore.

My parents wanted to call me Finn if I'd been a boy, and I'm eternally grateful I was a girl. I could just imagine the school years full of fish jokes/nicknames!

BasicBetty · 12/07/2018 10:58

Theodore - absolutely love it.
