Yes. A lot of the frilly names around now e.g. Arabella, Seraphina, Valentina, Liliana are not all that practical IRL and will get shortened.

Icklepup · 03/07/2018 12:13

Dorothy Grace

Emma198 · 03/07/2018 12:47

I know a Liliana who doesn't shorten.

I'm not in to frilly names that you couldn't image an adult with, but neither would sexiness be something that I would consider when naming my child, if your comment was aimed at me @Mike. I can't imagine that's an unusual opinion really.

TatianaLarina · 03/07/2018 13:34

Autumn is ok if it’s an Autumn baby or has Autumnal colouring, otherwise it’s weirdly inapt.

I’d go for Autumn Grace just to be done with Dorothy.

raeray · 03/07/2018 13:39

Ahh love the name Dorothy!
Would you consider than as a first name?
If not then I think Grace Dorothy gets my vote.

MikeUniformMike · 03/07/2018 13:50

I wouldn't think of sexiness but I would avoid something frumpy. Wasn't aimed at you Emma198.
I would definitely avoid a name that might be a stripper's stage name.

MariaMadita · 03/07/2018 14:45

Autumn for an autumn baby or if the season is particularly significant to you. :)

MariaMadita · 03/07/2018 14:47

Autumn Dorothy is imo cute and a bit quirky :)

I also like Autumn Dorothy Grace :)

TatianaLarina · 03/07/2018 18:06

Frumpy is exactly what I was referring to, I’m not advocating stripper names...

MikeUniformMike · 03/07/2018 18:58

I don't think Dorothy is particularly frumpy. Dot or Dotty are good nns and you could have Doll or Dolly too.

TatianaLarina · 03/07/2018 19:00

To me it’s the epitome of frump.

Autumn Grace is lovely.
