Hi I have a baby girl due in November, dh and I can’t choose names. Our last name is Friar. Some names we like are-
Elle
Harper
Aria
Lilly
Sophia
Lydia
Olivia and
Savannah but we can’t argree on two that go together with our last name.

Any suggestions?

Congratulations!

I think my favourite is Sophia but I think Lily (spelt like that) or Savannah go best with your surname

Other suggestions:

Annabell
Chloe
Abigail
Matilda
Bethany
Kirsten
Nicole
Harriet
Charlotte

I think Elle Friar sounds like hellfire!

I like Lily, Olivia and Sophia.

Sienna
Amber
Susannah
Jasmine
Amelia
Arabella

Love Lydia. Also really like Sophia. Olivia and Lily are lovely but a bit dull. Aria, Savannah and Harper aren’t to my tastes and I think they might date badly in a few years time. Like a PP I also hear hellfire with Elle so I’d rule that one out straight away.

I like Harper Friar best from your list

MayaFriar · 02/07/2018 16:52

Ella
Harper
Aria
Lilly
Sophia
Lydia
Olivia and
Savannah

Don't really like Harper, Aria or Savannah. And I don't think Aria sounds great with Friar - it's a bit of a tongue twister with the two 'Ria' sounds in it (I know different vowel sounds, but it's still a bit much). Similar problem with Sophia, though I do like that name.

I think Lydia is my favourite on your list, I think it goes better with your surname than Olivia.

Ella is a bit boring imo, and Lilly is ok, but far nicer spelt properly like the flower - Lily - if it's a standalone name. It should only be spelt Lilly if it's short for Lillian - otherwise it doesn't make sense.

I think Savannah Lilly Friar sounds lovely

BasicBetty · 03/07/2018 11:56

Lydia Savannah sounds nice

MikeUniformMike · 03/07/2018 12:25

Ella - so many of them. Ella Friar too close to Hell Fire
Harper - Too Beckhamy
Aria - Horrible trendy name
Lilly - Lily is very popular. Don't like Lil or the double l in Lilly
Sophia - Nice but there are lots Doesn't go well with surname
Lydia - not keen
Olivia and - too many. Nice though.
Savannah - no. Quite topical with the current burning countryside.

Love Lydia and think it sounds good with you surname.

Sessy19 · 03/07/2018 20:41

We don’t have the same taste in names, but I do like Lydia with your surname.

Congratulations 😊

Aria Friar Grin surely not OP?

Lucy
Poppy
Alice
Charlotte go well with Friar.

Harper Is my favourite from your list. I do like surnames for first names though. And unisex names.

Aria is pretty. It does remind me of PLL though. Not a bad thing but it did get pretty ridiculous after a while.

Harper Friar and Aria Friar I would say. Also whatever names you don't use as first names you could use ad middle names, like Harper Lilly Friar. The best of luck to you both! :)
