Hey what does everyone think of Ella Rose? Although I know it's very popular I have never known anyone with the name also ds has a popular name so that doesn't bother me..my other gave name is Sienna Grace, so which is best Ella Rose or Sienna Grace?thanks

Perfectly pretty, but highly overused. Both names are currently trendy and therefore, IMO, will be inclined to date. There will also likely be others in the school cohort, but obviously that's not intrinsically a terrible thing.

EB123 · 02/07/2018 09:09

I prefer Sienna but with Rose as the middle name.

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 02/07/2018 09:09

If I had to choose one I'd choose Sienna, purely on the basis that there are Ellas falling out of the woodwork everywhere you look currently, but I don't think there's much to choose between them.

Antonia87 · 02/07/2018 09:15

Both highly overused I’m afraid. There will be multiples of both at school. How about Rosa? Pretty and Italian. Rosa Grace perhaps?

SoNotaWendy · 02/07/2018 09:15

pretty but v of a moment that is sounding a bit dated. That's not bad, eg, 'louise' is dated but still a lovely name, but in my opionion ella sounds a bit 2005-2015.

Rose has been the go to middle name for 20 years now.

SoNotaWendy · 02/07/2018 09:17

what about graziela/graciella Rose

with gracie or ella as a possible nn.

Icklepup · 02/07/2018 09:35

Sienna

DinoSn0re · 02/07/2018 09:37

I think it depends on what’s popular where you live. Have met quite a few baby Sienna’s recently but haven’t known any baby Ella’s at any of the local playgroups or nurseries for at least three years now.

DinoSn0re · 02/07/2018 09:38

Also, I think Ella Rose is very pretty.

AtticaRose · 02/07/2018 09:39

Ella Rose is a lovely name - popular names are popular for a reason! I much prefer Ella to Sienna.

bridgetreilly · 02/07/2018 10:08

I've never liked Ella. It just doesn't sound finished to me. Much prefer Ellie, Elsie or Eleanor. Sienna is okay, I guess.

Discotits · 02/07/2018 10:11

I know two children called Ella Rose,
It’s perfecrly fine, but not very interesting.

ShotsFired · 02/07/2018 10:13

Agree - totally over used.

What about Rose as a first name instead?

Rose Elizabeth is pretty timeless.

FizzyGreenWater · 02/07/2018 11:07

Rose as a first name is pretty unusual, and lovely.

BillywigSting · 02/07/2018 11:10

Eleanor Rose with Ella as a nickname I think.

Very pretty though either way

DinoSn0re · 02/07/2018 11:14

Billywig’s suggestion is my favourite!

Cosmoa · 02/07/2018 11:24

Far too bland and overused

Wolfiefan · 02/07/2018 11:28

I like billywig's suggestion too.
And first name and middle? Not two first names.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 02/07/2018 11:44

There's so many girls called Ella, Ava, Amelia, Olivia so I wouldn't choose it personally.

Eleanor is so much nicer imo.

ISeeTheLight · 02/07/2018 11:48

It's going to be very dated in a few years or when she's older. Rose is nice, but I'd stay away from Ella.

Ariel88 · 02/07/2018 11:54

Haha ok mostly negative opinions then.i do like Eleanor but I do struggle to look past not choosing a new just because it's popular as to me they are popular cos they are nice names

Ella Rose is very pretty but she might be one of several.
Don't like Sienna Grace.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 02/07/2018 12:00

If you're not worried about the name being popular then go for it.

TwinkleToes86 · 02/07/2018 12:36

Both are way too overused. Out of the two, Sienna is better; prettier and more elegant.

BigTee · 02/07/2018 14:28

My friends daughter is called Ella-rose, she never calls her Ella-rose though so it seems a bit pointless but it's a beautiful name
