Full name is Teresa.
Wondering what we should call her.

Thanks :)

I love Tessa.

I think Tess is really cute. Though I also really like Tessa. Not a fan of Teresa really though sounds rather serious

CillaBlackFanOnIce · 28/06/2018 20:08

Tess

I don't like Teresa either but it's a family name and unfortunately I don't have a choice. Full name is Maria Teresa Valentina.

Tess. It's lovely.

DollyDayScream · 28/06/2018 20:40

Tess is lovely.

SlimGin · 28/06/2018 20:41

I know a Teresa who was shortened to 'Tre', which I liked. Valentina is soooo beautiful!

AlbertaSimmons · 28/06/2018 20:42

Tess is one of my all time faves.

MikeUniformMike · 28/06/2018 20:42

Teri

TatianaLarina · 28/06/2018 21:17

Tessa and Tess for short.

Falaffels · 28/06/2018 21:17

Tessa no Tess. Lovely name Smile

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 28/06/2018 21:20

Teresa is lovely, don't be afraid to use the whole thing.

Battleax · 28/06/2018 21:21

Tess.

FogCutter · 28/06/2018 21:22

Tess is a lovely name, I think it's a strong name for a girl.

MikeUniformMike · 28/06/2018 22:27

I don't get why you would shorten Teresa to Tessa. Tess maybe.
I think of Tess as a name in it's own right but it works as short for Teresa. Not keen on Treesa.

mvalentina · 28/06/2018 22:38

Thank you so much for all of the comments :)

I thought about using the full Teresa, but we prounounce the name as (teh-REH-sah) in Portugal and I would feel awkward if I had to correct someone who calls her (tuh-REE-zuh)...which would probably happen a lot. So I thought we could call her a nickname.

Her full name is Maria Teresa Valentina. We can't call her Valentina (or variations) because that is my name and that would be confusing.

I want her to have a nickname that is
recognizable and easy to say in most languages,
simple but not common,
and more traditional than modern.

I narrowed it down to Tessa and Tess. I also like Mia but it's a fairly common name these days.

Using both Tess and Tessa interchangeably for the same person isn’t unusual.

Sophronia · 29/06/2018 00:43

Tess

LoveInTokyo · 29/06/2018 06:20

Why don’t you just call her Maria (not Mia)?

Maria is a beautiful name.

LoveInTokyo · 29/06/2018 06:22

And if you must use a nickname, what about Ria?

Mia is totally overused.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 29/06/2018 10:21

❤️ Tess.
