My partner and I have not agreed on names until yesterday and now we are stuck between two!

We have a little girl called Quinn and we like names that are not the norm but we are drawn to Elliott and Brody.

What do you like about each name (if at all)

Thank youuu

Elliot is lovely and goes so well with Quinn but Brody is a bit keeping up with the Kardashians (wouldn't bother me but it might bother you) Congrats on your little boy Flowers

calzone · 15/06/2018 08:55

Definitely Elliott.

Brody is not as nice.

17caterpillars1mouse · 15/06/2018 08:56

Elliott is lovely but more popular than Brody which is also mix but probably fits with Quinn better if that matters to you.

I do think i prefer Elliott though.

Congrats on your baby boy. Maybe try each name out for a few days and just see which one fits

Flamingosnbears · 15/06/2018 08:59

Elliott and Brody feel very different to each other I would say with Quinn Brody is the better fit.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/06/2018 09:03

Elliot is gorgeous. Brody is awful, sorry, but Its better fit with Quinn.

bridgetreilly · 15/06/2018 09:32

Elliott, though I would spell it Elliot.

Summer1986 · 15/06/2018 09:40

Totally not significantly but I do wonder if you are fans of homeland? Both Quinn and Brody are major characters!

Bubblesoup · 15/06/2018 09:49

Elliot definitely!

notsolittlegrebe · 15/06/2018 09:50

Elliott!

gracielacey · 15/06/2018 10:35

Brody is hideous - it is, to me, a mid-20s American football/baseball player name.
Does not work well in the U.K, and isn't a nice sounding name any way.

(But then, Quinn is far too American for my tastes too)

Chelsbarnes · 15/06/2018 11:43

Oh really, no i’ve Never watched it haha!

I don't like Brody either. Elliot.

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 15/06/2018 17:21

I much prefer Elliott.

HeyDolly · 15/06/2018 17:29

I prefer Elliott. What about Ellis?

Shiftymake · 15/06/2018 18:07

Elliott gets a vote here too

2good · 15/06/2018 18:10

I think Elliot and it goes really well with Quinn Smile

Sessy19 · 15/06/2018 18:13

Love Quinn for a girl! Great start!

And I think Brody goes perfectly... I only know one Brody (and lots of Elliots) who is now 8, and he is SUPER cool. Total dude.

WrideD · 15/06/2018 18:21

I really want to like Elliot because my favourite author is George Eliot but I just don't. I know a few Elliot's as well. Brody is way more cute and goes great with Quinn, more quirky I think.

Chelsbarnes · 15/06/2018 21:25

Love hearing everyone’s thoughts! We are going with Brody, although we love Elliot, Brody takes the win with being a little bit different :)

Our family likes names that are a bit different, here’s a few to give you an idea;
Mica, India, Brogan, Tate, Brook, Halle, Estee, Caitlyn, Erin, Isla, Autumn, Avery, Hadley and so on! ( I have the most common name out of the lot now, although my mum said it wasn’t at the time)!

Brody is very similar to Brogan

Chelsbarnes · 16/06/2018 09:41

I’m aware they are similar but it doesn’t matter, there’s a 22 year age gap Smile

I think Brodie is a Scottish name. I know a fabulous one I love Elliot.

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/06/2018 20:03

Brodie is a Scottish name and would be considered fairly classic and the social equivalent of Elliot/Findlay/Ramsay and it's certainly no different to Hamish, Rory and Ruaraidh which are loved on here. I hate the snobbish attitude on here sometimes to anything that isn't classic middle class English.

badg3r · 16/06/2018 22:33

Quinn and Brody also immediately made me think homeland!

ButterflyOfFreedom · 16/06/2018 22:56

Brody goes best with Quinn.

it is very Homeland though!!
