As a full name or nickname? Is it going to get very popular?

Penelope 2.5

Eleanor 32

Rowse · 14/06/2018 18:34

Oh and Billie Faires from the only way is Essex and another programme following her family had a daughter called Nelly so that could inspire people

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 14/06/2018 18:35

One. Short for Eleanor, aged 5.

Mountainsoutofmolehills · 14/06/2018 18:37

I know a Fenella, she is insipid. She is called Nelly. I don't think I'd want to be called Nell. It's like Meg. Nah.

Ohyesiam · 14/06/2018 18:38

2

HeyDolly · 14/06/2018 18:39

Only one. It’s her full name and she’s nearly 4.

moralminority · 14/06/2018 18:44

One, she is 5. I love the name.

MyGastIsFlabbered · 14/06/2018 18:44

I wanted to be a Nell but it never took. I'm 43

Pebblespony · 14/06/2018 18:46

The only ones I knew are both dead from old age
Don't know any young (or living) people with the name. Both were Ellen.

Littlelondoner · 14/06/2018 18:47

1x nella
1x nellie
1x nelle

And 2x nells (who are both polish-unsure if pure coincidence!)

All under 8. All full names.

There was a big trend few years back of ellie/bella/ella sounding names...so I ashume this is just a natural progression from that.

CAAKE · 14/06/2018 18:47

One. She's a pony.

lifechangesforever · 14/06/2018 18:48

2 - one is the wife of a colleague (full name Helen) and one is the daughter of another colleague, Nell is her full name.

Glumglowworm · 14/06/2018 19:33

One, aged 10 or 11, Nel is her full name

millymae · 14/06/2018 19:51

3 all under 7.
To me it’s the perfect name because it can’t be abbreviated.

ApolloandDaphne · 14/06/2018 20:02

There were loads of Nell's in our family. All Helen's. All now dearly departed. Know no young Nell's but I love it as a name.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 14/06/2018 20:05

I don't have my glasses on and thought it said Neil. I thought there was going to be a resurgence of little Neils running about

susej · 14/06/2018 20:08

One, she’s my elderly patient Grin

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 14/06/2018 20:08

Here is our Nell!!
A beauty, feel free to have a Nell also!!

Gorgeous.

curious541 · 14/06/2018 20:27

One - via Mumsnet on a newbie thread from earlier
Hi Nell Chambers

deptfordgirl · 14/06/2018 20:31

One as a full name.

I like it and like it as a nn for Eleanor.

zeebeedee · 14/06/2018 20:34

One, in her late 30's, short for Eleanor - but it suits her so much better than Eleanor would!

pickleface · 14/06/2018 20:39

Only one, mine :-)

pickleface · 14/06/2018 20:41

And she's simply Nell. Perfect on it's own.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 14/06/2018 20:43

Nell- Full name Quenelle

That’s the only one I can think of
