MNers in the US - How many Olivers do you know?

Hi all, Oliver is currently top of our list for our next boy, who's due in a few months. I'm originally from the UK and am aware that it's super popular as a name over there, but am struggling to gage how popular it is out here - I think probably pretty popular (not the end of the world though our first DS' name is reasonably unusual). Also, general thoughts on the name?

Thank you!

I've been here 7 years and can only remember meeting one Oliver! My DS is in an all boys school of several hundred boys so I've just checked the school directory and there's only one Oliver in there too so definitely hasn't hit the same levels of popularity here as in the UK
I think it's a lovely name, it was on my (very!) short list of names for my DS when I was pregnant

I know only one Oliver here in the US.

I knew probably over 20 + back home in the UK.

It’s in the top 10 in the US now so I imagine it’s quite popular.

2 - both in their 30s

Sorry misread! I'm in the U.K.

none at all

They had a naming ceremony at church yesterday and there were two Olivers. One was a baby with American parents and another was older (about 3-5) but had British parents.

I don’t know any here either but I know loaaads in the UK. I hadn’t really noticed that before.

Thank you! Relieved to hear it's a little less popular over here, as we really do love it.

I know one and he’s Australian. Haven’t met any American Oliver’s

Love the name but if you’re worried about popularity I’ve personally met 2 baby/toddler Olivers in the last week and a woman I know through a voluntary job just mentioned her new grandson is an Oliver... so perhaps it’s becoming more popular here?!
