We have recently found out we are having a girl 💕💖

We have always like Miya and Marnie. Recently gone off Marnie as seen various clips from Geordie Shore!! Couldnt have my little angel linked with that!

What do we think of Florence (Flo for short) am yet to run it past DH as im wondering if im having a prego mad moment!!

I love Florence, but it's very different from your other two ideas.

user1906 · 30/05/2018 17:55

@bridgetreilly i know thats why im wondering if i need bringing down a few pegs 😂 it just sounds so elegant!!

I love Florence.

My friend has a Maya, which I think you can also spell Maia. Any good?

BB2018 · 30/05/2018 18:16

Love Florence! Thinking of using it as a middle name (but don’t know if we’re having a boy or girl!)

I do love Marnie, too, though, and it’s more unusual. I think Geordie Shore isn’t widely watched enough to put you off - people will have forgotten all about it!

daisypond · 30/05/2018 19:19

Florence is really nice and much nicer than your other suggestions, imo. But I don't like Flo at all. I wouldn't use Florence if you're going to shorten to Flo.

Sophronia · 30/05/2018 19:22

Florence is much nicer than Miya and Marnie.

mintich · 30/05/2018 19:24

Love Florence!

MikeUniformMike · 30/05/2018 19:26

Florence. Could be shortened to Flor or Flossie. Not keen on Miya or Marnie.

TheBlackMadonna · 30/05/2018 19:38

I love Florence. My late DGMs name. It was always shortened to Florrie.

AnyaMoondial · 30/05/2018 20:40

Yeah Florence is ace.

DramaAlpaca · 30/05/2018 20:42

Florence is great. It's much better than your other two choices.

Muddlingalongalone · 30/05/2018 20:45

I love Marnie & think the association with Geordie shore will be v short lived so wouldn't be put off by that.
Maya, Maia or Myah are all lovely.
Florence is great but makes me think of David Cameron which for me is worse than Marnie from Geordie shore😂

RuthW · 30/05/2018 20:55

I have a 21 year old Florence. Don't use Florence if you don't like Flo.

RedDwarves · 30/05/2018 22:15

Florence is infinitely nicer than Miya (and any other spelling i.e. Maya or Maia) and Marnie.

LarkDescending · 31/05/2018 05:25

Florence is gorgeous - as you say, really elegant.

sundayblanket · 31/05/2018 09:51

Florence is lovely, BUT there are a lot of baby Florences... (this is what put me off the name for my little one)

Marnie is great too and one of my top names. There's a Hitchcock reference (insane woman), but don't let that put you off - I think it's quite cool actually!

gwen25 · 31/05/2018 10:13

I love Florence.

Bubblesoup · 31/05/2018 10:14

Florence is beautiful. I know two, both shortened to Flo. I love it.

Aquamarine1029 · 31/05/2018 10:41

I prefer Flora over Florence, but it is still a nice name.

ZebraKid71 · 31/05/2018 12:51

Florence was on our short list but it's popularity put us off. Which now she is in a nursery class with two Florences I'm very glad about. It is gorgeous though. Not a fan of the other two names.

Flamingosnbears · 31/05/2018 13:08

Florence out of your three choices...

MsSquiz · 31/05/2018 13:13

I love Florence, I have (in my head) chosen Florence Amelia of DH and I have a daughter. Florence was my mum's mum's name and also, coincidently the name of my wedding dress, so I maybe be biased...

user1906 · 31/05/2018 13:18

Thanks everyone.

How about Florence as a middle name , like Marnie Florence or Miya Florence??

Our surname begins with a V, sounds better with Marnie though

Marnie Florence is nice.
