What about the name Eartha for a girl due this autumn?
Surname begins with C, middle name possibly Annie

Definitely not. Eartha Kit is cockney rhyming slang for sh*t.
Also it's just a very ugly name.

SexyManatee · 26/05/2018 00:37

I actually really like it. I'm a bit surprised in myself!

Cosmoa · 26/05/2018 04:10

I think it's beautiful!

I had some really nasty comments for my short lists so I stopped asking.. And the name I chose has been incredibly loved and wowed people!

I almost used Honua as a middle name which means Earth in Hawaii Smile

NameChangedForThisQ · 26/05/2018 04:38

I like it

EmmaGrundyForPM · 26/05/2018 04:46

I quite like it. I do associate it with Eartha Kitt but have never been aware of the cockney rhyming slang for shit. So I guess it would depend on where you live and if people there tend to use the slang version.

eurochick · 26/05/2018 05:47

Horrible name. Plus the rhyming slang associations.

Imchlibob · 26/05/2018 06:27

Too similar to Bertha for my taste. I wouldn't.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/05/2018 09:09

If you're going to ask for peoples' opinions you might want to remover that huge back of potatoes off your shoulder first.
Do I dare say I think it's awful

MarthasGinYard · 26/05/2018 09:20

We have an 'Eartha alert' at work on board.

Means one of the pax has had a huge dump and it hasn't flushed.

Cosmoa · 26/05/2018 09:25

I'm in the north and have never heard of the rhyming slang!

daisypond · 26/05/2018 10:33

I rather like it. But I wasn't aware of the "shit" association, though.

InkSnail · 26/05/2018 11:38

I don't like the ur sound at the start of Eartha, Ursula etc. Too similar to the sound people make if they don't like something,

blinkineckmum · 26/05/2018 13:53

No

Hatewaybuloo · 26/05/2018 14:27

Yes valid point about the ‘ergh’ sound!
