Help needed - our little boy needs a name...

Hi all,

We're due to have our third beautiful son this September, but are completely stuck on his name. Our other sons are called Teddy and Sonny. We fell in love with both names the minute we heard them, and receive nothing but compliments about their names. I've always loved Casper, husband wasn't so keen (due to Casper the ghost) but is warming to it. Both our boys adore that name too. The other contender is Barney (Barnaby), another name I've also always liked.
Really, really struggling. Our youngest loves Casper, and isn't keen on Barney. However, our eldest and my husband prefer Barney.

If you like the names Casper and Barney, please could I ask your opinion on which would suit our family better.
Teddy, Sonny and Casper. Or, Teddy, Sonny and Barney.

If you don't like either, please don't comment.

Thank you all. It's very important for us that our sons are involved . I'm still torn, just when I think I've made my mind up it changes again the next day.

ADORE Caspar (spelt like this) it would be DS 2s name if we have another boy

I like both, but I think as others have said, Barney goes better with your other boys' names 😊

I prefer Casper. I do t actually associate it with the ghost (never watched it) but instead Kasper Tudor (I'm a huge lover of Tudor fiction!).

Another name you might like is Tommy?

That aside,OP, I have a Barney. Great name for a boy, teenager and man. Mine is lovely.

Casper - Barney is s purple dinosaur and my parent's friends had a Dalmatian with the same name!

I don't think the whole purple dinosaur thing is too relevant in the U.K. I help out at our sons school and I asked the whole class who had heard of Barney the dinosaur, only one child had. Unfortunately I'm still none the wiser, but thank you all for commenting.

We have a lovely ice cream place called Caspar's here. It's a chain restaurant I think.

I thought Rubble, not a purple dinosaur by the way with Barney.

Barney makes me think of that purple dinosaur as my kids loved his videos when they were little (1990s). It is great name until you see your other choice.
Casper was a friendly ghost, whereas Caspar is a seriously fabulous name & works well with your other boys names.

I prefer Casper but I think Barney fits with your other DC’s names better.
