If I love Arlo...

What other names might I like?

DC3 is due in Sept and both dh and I love love love Arlo but it’s so popular (in NZ) that every time I’m at the park I hear it at least twice and that’s just a bit too much for me.

I’m struggling to find anything else I like as much though. Dh has suggested Walter, Jed, Kai, Clarence, and Ari.

My suggestions have been Ennis, Theo, Ezra, Harry and James.

Any suggestions that we might have missed?

I love Otis!

Dh has vetoed Milo, Otto and Amos but I liked those. He liked Woody but I am not as much of a fan.

Scrub I had forgotten about Cosmo which is one that dh has suggested with every pregnancy! He loves that one and maybe it’s growing on me too. I always associate it with Seinfeld though.

I like Fraser and Harlan. We both like Wyatt too. Close enough to Walter for him and very similar feel to Arlo.

Thanks for all these great suggestions!

Ivo?
If you're in NZ you really can't call a child Kai! Means 'food'.

Grin Lost yes that was ultimately why it got crossed off the list. We loved it for our first who was born in the US and we were looking at all the ocean meanings but definitely a bit of a different situation here. Good thing DC was a girl and hasn’t been called ‘food’ here.

Albie is nice but is it getting more popular now?

We both like Malakai/Malachy , with chi/kai as a nn but would that still be not great here or maybe ok?

OP I love Jed!!

How about Cian/Kian?

ScrubTheDecks · 17/05/2018 08:27

Not Kai in NZ!

And not if your Dd is called Moana.

AnyaMoondial · 17/05/2018 08:30

Cormac

coffeeandrainbows · 17/05/2018 08:46

Lost not even as a nn?? I’m grasping here I know because we both do like Kai and there is another dc at my dd’s preschool that is called Kai. Tell me if I’m crazy though. If I can move on from Arlo, I can move on from Kai

I love Jasper.

How do you pronounce Kian? I’m saying it as Ky-ann but it doesn’t sound great with my American accent.

Cormac is very nice as well

Dh has also suggested Thaddaeus which I don’t mind but am not in love with —although it doesn’t mean food so maybe I should focus on that— Grin
