Pronunciation of Evelyn

Hi guys, I'm just wondering how people would normally pronounce this name. Would you say 'Eve-lin' or 'Ev-a-lin'

Ev-a-lin

I'd pronounce it Ev-eh-lyn but I think Eve-lyn is quite common also.

I would say Eev-lin but I know a couple who are both ev-lin. I’d probably never pronounce it ev-ah-lin.

Ev-eh-lyn but the middle syllable is barely there.

Eve-lyn is the male pronunciation

I've always said Ev-lin and that is how I say it in my head however my sister's friend has called her baby Eve-lin (Evie) and I am trying to train my brain to say it that way.

It’s unlikely they’ll use the full name much. My teenage Evelyn prefers to be called Ally.

My MIL was Evelyn and she always pronounced it as Ev-lyn
