Hi, this is my list so far but family aren’t too keen on the ones I really like (it’s important to me that they like it) and some, no matter how much I love them, I just don’t see myself naming my own child if that makes sense? Opinions on these names would be great as well as any recommendations. (don’t yet know the gender so I’m looking for both currently)

Girls:
Anya
Atia (family don’t like)
Gia
Edie
Lyla
Rylie (family don’t like)
Rayne (family don’t like)
Lea

Boys:
Gene (family don’t like)
Logan
Elliot
Rory
Leo

From your list I like I only really like Gia, Riley, Logan and Leo!

How about Anita, Fern, Wren or Leah for a girl? Boys - Leon, Ellis, Julian, Glen?

chezmk1988 · 13/05/2018 12:51

I like Anya and Lyla best for girls and Rory for boy

Of the girls list I like Anya, Edie (if short for Edith) and Lea (prefer Leah spelling).

Elliot or Leo of the boy's names.

Suggestions...

Anna
Lena
Georgia (you could have Gia as nickname)
Cassia

Max
Ethan
James
Morgan

Anya - nice
Atia (family don’t like) - No. I don't know how to say it. Is it Asha Aysha, At-ee-ah?
Gia - No. Could be short for Gianna etc.
Edie - Not keen but it's quite popular
Lyla - no
Rylie (family don’t like) - it's a strange spelling of Riley. No.
Rayne (family don’t like) - Rain and pain spring to mind.
Lea - it's pronounced Lee. Lia or Leah are better.

Boys:
Gene (family don’t like)
Logan
Elliot
Rory
Leo

Boy's names not so bad.

Anya - nice
Atia -how do you say it? I'm guessing Ay-sha. Aisha is a more established name.
Gia -hm, possibly. But my first thought is the Italian word già, meaning already and pronounced a bit like ja. Maybe you want Jee-a. Gina? Lia is an established name as well, which can also be a version of Lea/h.
Edie - no, not as a standalone name. Edith?
Lyla - no, too bland
Rylie -Riley would be more common. It's a surname-type name, so I wouldn't be keen anyway.
Rayne (family don’t like) -Raine would be a bit better.
Lea - nice, though Leah is the more usual UK spelling. The Leas I know have Continental origins.

Gene - OK - could definitely grow on me.
Logan - Australian surfer name. OK if you like that sort of name.
Elliot - fine
Rory - nice
Leo -nice

Stella
Maria

Anya and Elliot for me I would say Gene but only if it was Eugene.

user1464799068 · 13/05/2018 15:35

I like some of these suggestions - I really like Ayla, Ciara and Lena.

Atia is pronounced Ah-tee-ah, it never really occurred to me that people may pronounce it similar to Aisha which is my sisters name so I probably won’t use that now.

I’m really struggling with boys names, Gene is my favourite i’ve come across but i’m still not 100% sure about it and everyone i’ve mentioned it to hates it.

Girls:
Anya - really like it
Atia - not keen.
Gia - not keen
Edie - like it but would only use as a nn for Edith or Eden
Lyla - really like it
Rylie - quite like it
Rayne - quite like it. Never seen that spelling before though.
Lea - not keen

Boys:
Gene - don't like at all, sorry
Logan - like it
Elliot - love it
Rory - it's ok
Leo - quite like it

I would go for Anya or Lyla and Elliot.

I like Gia, Rory and Leo. The rest are quite chavvy and Gene is just odd.

Sophronia · 13/05/2018 22:17

I like Anya, Lila (this spelling) and Leo.
