Hey all ,
We just found out we are having a Girl!
Stuck between the names Aria & Evie
Any thoughts on the names ?
Also does it look silly if the middle name doesn't flow as much we wanted to use a grandparents name to honor them which is Sarah
😀

Aria Evie’s been quite common the last few years but I haven’t heard Aria x

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 12/05/2018 00:39

Aria! But (check the NN) I'm biased!

peytonlia · 12/05/2018 01:15

Aria for sure! Such a pretty name. Evie is a little over-used imo.

Aylarose · 12/05/2018 02:15

Aria sounds really pretty! Evie is nice too but I prefer Aria.

KirstenRaymonde · 12/05/2018 03:01

Aria. Evie is nice but a) literally everywhere right now and b) great for a little girl but not so much for an adult woman

Joeybee · 12/05/2018 03:02

Aria to me sounds like a more 'full' rounded name. I think it holds itself as a name in its own right. Whereas Evie sounds like a nickname for Eva or Evelyn or something similar. I also think Evie is a little too cutesy to be useable on an adult.

babydreamer1 · 12/05/2018 06:17

Aria is beautiful, doesn't work with Sarah though. But then again nobody really uses their middle name on a day to day basis.

BB2018 · 12/05/2018 07:19

I think Aria Sarah is nice! Def prefer it to Evie Smile

RedDwarves · 12/05/2018 07:23

I prefer Evie, but like it as a nickname for Eve or another more formal name (Evelina, Evangeline etc).

Evie Sarah flows better than Aria Sarah too.

Cosmoa · 12/05/2018 11:30

My midwife said she's seen loads of Aria's lately.. It's becoming very popular! Not too fond of Evie either.... Used to be but I've heard that too many times also!

LoveInTokyo · 12/05/2018 12:07

I prefer Aria but Aria Sarah doesn’t quite flow. Can you do two middle names? E.g. Aria Elizabeth Sarah.

Realistica · 12/05/2018 12:15

Aria by a long way

userabcname · 12/05/2018 12:17

Another vote for Aria

MrsMarigold · 12/05/2018 12:28

Why not go for Eve, so much more sophisticated.

LiteraryDevil · 12/05/2018 12:33

Aria very popular on the council estates round here..... I always imagine it said with the Manc 'o' as per the 90s and the Gallagher brothers saying Manchest-o. Ari-o. Otherwise it would be lovely but definitely a council estate name around here. Sorry.

redmini4 · 12/05/2018 12:34

Prefer Aria to Evie. And it flows a better with Sarah when you say it.

OlennasWimple · 12/05/2018 12:39

Do you know that Arya is a main character in Game of Thrones?

(I like the name, but worth being aware of pop culture associations with a name before choosing it)

Sophronia · 12/05/2018 12:41

Aria is very trendy, and Evie is very popular. Evie Sarah sounds better.

Eenymeeny123 · 12/05/2018 12:44

Aria is beautiful but I also think Eve nickname Evie is lovely too. I can never understand the fascination with middle names having to suit the first. The middle name is rarely used anyway so what's the problem. I always think first names are the names you like and middle names are for recognising close family.

Tumbleted · 12/05/2018 13:24

Aria is a bit too trendy for my liking! I know a few and I think it will age badly. That being said I prefer Evie as a diminutive for a longer name x

Glumglowworm · 12/05/2018 13:35

I’m not a fan of Aria although not for any objective or specific reason

So Evie for me

I only know 2 Evie’s but it does kind of blend into Evie/eva/eve/Ella/Ellie/Erin

MikeUniformMike · 12/05/2018 14:07

Evie definitely. Don't like Aria.

Mrsknackered · 12/05/2018 14:09

Evie

duckling84 · 12/05/2018 14:13

Aria is quite popular but everyone will assume you like game of thrones and that's where you got it from (even with the different spelling). It is nice though and if you don't mind that then go for it.
I personally prefer Evie, at least it cm be shortened to Eve.

Menime · 12/05/2018 14:18

I prefer Evie but I think Aria is less popular.
