Natalia

RoundaboutSnail · 29/04/2018 08:43

Natalie, although I like both.

stellinaa · 29/04/2018 08:45

I prefer Natalie but love both! Would pronounce Natalia either Na-tah-lia (tah like in Tahlia) or Na-talya (ta like in tap), the former is more common in English speaking countries, and the latter in Eastern Europe, Italy, Spain, etc I believe.

MrsLemonadeBrain · 29/04/2018 08:48

Natalia pronounced - Nat- ar - liuh
Well at least that’s how the half a dozen I’ve taught, the 2 I’ve worked with and my aunt pronounce it?

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 29/04/2018 21:39

Sorry to resurrect this, but the 'r' is presumably in there because the poster has a non-rhotic accent (like a lot of people) and so 'ar' sounds the same as 'ah'.

TatianaLarina · 30/04/2018 10:27

There’s no reason to pronounce the two A’s differently.

It should either be Naa taa lia or Nah tah lia.

But Naa tah lia is just odd.

It’s not pronounced like that in the languages from which it originates.

Raines100 · 30/04/2018 12:18

I prefer Natalia. Natalie is a bit 70s.

YES.

So What I was trying to say is it's not (in my opinion and limited experience) pronounced Natalie-a, it's pronounced like this:

17caterpillars1mouse · 30/04/2018 13:16

I prefer Nathalie

DiegoMadonna · 30/04/2018 15:00

I like Natalie but I love Natalia.

DiegoMadonna · 30/04/2018 15:01

I've never heard anyone pronounce it nat-ah-lia. Thankfully.

pipilangstrumpf · 30/04/2018 15:55

I simply don't get the confusion about pronouncing Natalia, surely it can only be Na-ta-lia, excactly as it is written.

bella2bella · 30/04/2018 16:03

I prefer Natalie and it seems there would be confusion on how to pronounce Natalia! I'd say nat-ah-lia. I wouldn't choose Natalie if you live in an area where people drop their ts though!

recoveringmummy · 30/04/2018 16:11

Natalie, but I'm probably biased as that's my name :-) I love it and my parents call me Tallie for short x

sockunicorn · 30/04/2018 16:59

Natalie :)

Helpimfalling · 30/04/2018 17:12

My sister is called Natalia

Na tali a
