Just don’t seem to be able to make a decision on DD2. Every time I think we’re there, doubts creep in.
DD1 is Elizabeth (nn Lizzie)
Surname is a fairly standard, boring name.

Which do you prefer?

Annabelle Iona
Emilia Iona
Georgia Iona
Georgina Iona

Annabelle is lovely.

Yika · 17/04/2018 21:06

Why not Iona as a first name? It's lovely.

Of the others - all nice - I'd probably go for Annabel.

TheDowagerCuntess · 17/04/2018 21:08

It's either Georgina - or Iona for me.

The other three names are all a bit standard issue, run-of-the-mill.

The above two are lovely.

Sophronia · 17/04/2018 21:51

Georgina or Annabel.

RidingWindhorses · 17/04/2018 22:05

I'd have Iona as the first name.

Snowhite12 · 19/04/2018 08:49

Thanks all. Can’t go with Iona as first name. DH’S family are Welsh and will pronounce it the Welsh way. I prefer the Scottish pronunciation and so it will get complicated.
Don’t care how they pronounce it if it’s a middle name!

Seems like Annabel is the front runner.
DH is pretty set on Georgia and now I really don’t know. 2 weeks to decide!

Annabel sounds like an elegant, educated woman of substance.

Annabelle sounds like a Disney princess!

Joeybee · 19/04/2018 23:03

Annabelle because it flows really nicely with Iona. Also Annabelle is totally underused and it's a beautiful, versatile name.

harrietm87 · 20/04/2018 06:46

Love Annabel (with that spelling). Otherwise Georgina.

winterwonderly · 20/04/2018 06:51

Georgia. It's a classic, elegant name, and very underused. It was on our list for baby number 2 which then turned out to be a boy!

SoyDora · 20/04/2018 06:53

Annnabel or Georgina.
We have an Annabel (spelt like that) and thought we’d use the nickname Bella but at nearly 3 she’s insistent that she’s just Annabel and no nicknames are allowed!

nooka · 20/04/2018 07:14

I think Georgina is much better than Georgia with Iona. Georgia Iona doesn't flow nearly as well IMO. Annabel is probably the best fit, and if it turns out there are too many Bellas and Belles around then Annie/ Anna are options (my dd moved from the most obvious shortening of her name for this reason, and it's nice to have a few choices - another reason I like Georgina over Georgia).
