Names like Thea?

DP and I are really struggling to agree on names. He likes old fashioned/traditional names and I really don’t.
I already have DS who is Leo from a previous relationship so I feel it has to flow with that.
I am not a girly girl and don’t like frilly names. My favourite girls name is Cleo but I can’t use that with Leo or people will look at me like Hmm
I also love Thea so that’s currently front runner but I can’t find any more names like it that are on the same wavelength if you know what I mean.

Boys names we have are Luca, Ezra, Isaac and Oscar although I don’t think Oscar goes well with surname.

Help me!!

All one or two syllables and not too old fashioned. I like Luna, but maybe as a middle name.

Thea is an anagram of hate which kind of puts me off it.

My 13 year old daughter is a Thea. Means goddess in Greek, but is also Greek for Auntie.

As for not shortening it, we live in wales and it definitely gets shortened to The (th and then strong e!)

Briefly considered Theodora and Theodosia, but then gave my pregnant, hormonal self a slap!!

It's a lovely name, and she gets complimented on it lots.

I love Luna! Also, how about Juno, Alba or Astrid?

LovelyBranches · 12/04/2018 11:30

We have very similar taste. My DS was going to be called Leo but my next door neighbour called their dog Leo and they aren’t the quietest so hearing it bellowed 100 times a day put me off but it is a beautiful name.

We also have a DS called Thea and I love it. We considered Juno, Cara and Juliet.

LovelyBranches · 12/04/2018 12:44

Ooh just remembered we also liked Alex and Hera

DanceDisaster · 12/04/2018 12:48

I love Juliet, which could be shortened to Etta?
