Is Joel too similar?

To Leo. Just found out I'm having another boy, found it really hard to choose a name last time. I like the name Joel, but given that (ignoring the J) it's Leo spelt backwards, is it too similar? Thanks.

I think it's fine. They have very different sounds.

MollyHuaCha · 08/04/2018 08:21

They have similar letters, but because one starts with L and one starts with J, they feel very different. I think they go well together.

Slartybartfast · 08/04/2018 08:24

bit of a tongue twister if you say them together such as Joel Leo but apart from that it is fine

ToesInWater · 08/04/2018 08:34

I love both names - the whole spelling backwards thing just makes it a nice link between them tbh.

Eeeeek2 · 08/04/2018 08:40

I think it's fine, I have a friend who has a Bethany and an Ethan I didn't notice that if you take the first and last letter off Bethany you get Ethan, until she pointed it out.

Think it's fine and I like both names!

If your worried about Joel how about something like Jude?

ChocolateCrunch · 08/04/2018 09:27

I think they're fine together.

Littlemum2be86 · 08/04/2018 09:41

They don’t sound similar at all so I think you’re fine. They sound good together!

HugMeBringItIn · 08/04/2018 09:48

No it’s fine. Love the name Joel, would have been DD3 name if she was a boy.

MumUndone · 08/04/2018 10:44

Oh good! Now I just have to get DH to agree Smile
