I don't think I'm brave enough. But DH and I are tackling lists tonight and I thought I'd get your thoughts on my weirder choices first in case I really should drop them. They're all real, just to pre-empt questioners Grin and the others on my list are much more 'normal'...

Raglan
Morey
Aubin

Don't like any of them OP, sorry

WildCherryBlossom · 03/04/2018 18:07

I like Aubin. Raglan is a type of sleeve fitting (ie on a baseball top) and Morey looks like a miss-spelling of either "Maurie" short for Maurice or Moray (place in Scotland)

IVflytrap · 03/04/2018 18:08

Francis - Or and Aw sound the same to most English people. There's no R sound there for us. To you it'd probably be something like "aw-bin".

BikeRunSki · 03/04/2018 18:10

Eben
Tobin
Drystan
Ambrose

ErrantBakedBean · 03/04/2018 18:17

Francis and ivfly Yep in my accent or bin and aw bin sound the same.

Dogsrbarking I haven't actually heard 'on the rag' - I'm guessing it means something bad?

Dogsrbarking · 03/04/2018 18:26

Well it means being on your period.

I forgot to add, Morey and Aubin are fine.

Moominfan · 03/04/2018 18:33

Torin is lovely

What about

Shilo
Hudson
Rohan
Calvin
Roman
Rocco
Troy
Roland
Franklyn

Looselytranslated · 03/04/2018 18:35

I know an Oban, similar sounding but I like the way Aubin looks as a name.
Raglan is a village to me.

ErrantBakedBean · 03/04/2018 18:44

I like Oban too but sadly it's just too close to my brother's name! Aubin is far enough removed.

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 03/04/2018 18:49

I think Aubin is lovely.

RavenWings · 03/04/2018 20:47

Raglan - On Raglan road, very famous poem turned into a song in Ireland. Wouldn't do it myself due to that.

Morey - thought of moray eels immediately

Aubin - I like it

windchimesabotage · 03/04/2018 20:50

Raglan and Aubin I like but not Morey because it sounds sad somehow?

londonloves · 03/04/2018 20:51

Raglan is also an amazing coastal town in New Zealand.
I liked Oberon and Heathcliffe but both vetoed !

BHillary · 03/04/2018 20:52

Aubin has now gone onto my boys list!

drspouse · 03/04/2018 21:16

Cosmo and Rocco aren't all that out there, and Raglan is definitely a sleeve.

MikeUniformMike · 03/04/2018 21:38

I don't like your suggestions but I love Aldrin.

SilverGiraffe7 · 03/04/2018 22:10

I like Aubin best out of those. What about:

Odin
Loki
Amaury
Eldred
Darwin
Athos
Brydan
Griffin

GoJohnnyGoGoGoGo · 03/04/2018 22:15

As someone else has pointed out Raglan is an area in Monmouthshire. It has an amazing castle but I've never known it to be a name.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 03/04/2018 22:29

What about:

Orson
Aubrey
Morgan
Reuben
Lorcan

pipilangstrumpf · 04/04/2018 07:03

Aubin and Orson are great! Or how about Austin or Quentin?

RosieCotton · 04/04/2018 07:56

I love Aubin. It's a lovely name. We had Alban as a name if our little one was a boy.

Oysterbabe · 04/04/2018 09:28

I know an Aubin who's 7. I think it's fine.
Not keen on the others.

BertrandRussell · 04/04/2018 09:30

Lachlan.
