I don't think I would pick another name with an X in it so not Fox or Rex unless you really want matchy matchy names but then again as pp said Dixie and Chip do sound like cartoon mice. So maybe back to the drawing board.

Here we have a chicken shop called Dixi chicken , which obviously sells chips so Chip sounds a bit comical , Dixi (chicken ) and Chip(s)

Of the three I would only consider Rex William.
Please don't use Chip.

None of them are great if I’m honest. Rex is a dog’s name to me. Fox, no. I wouldn’t call a child Dog or Fish or Bird. And Chip isn’t a name either, it’s a food.

Rex William is nice, Fox is nice too.

@toffee1000 animal names aren’t that unusual...Robin, Kitty, Wolf, Bear, Wren, I know an elderly Birdie.

I know they’re not unusual, but Wolf Bear and Wren still don’t really seem like names to me. They’re usually chosen by celebs IME. Wolf and Bear in particular sound rather harsh for a little kid.
They’re not the worst names I’ve heard though.

I don't think Rex fits your criteria of unique at all. I've taught a couple.

Much prefer Fox to Chip - Chip just reminds me of the teacup from Beauty and the Beast.
