Juliette

AdaColeman · 01/04/2018 22:24

Both very lovely, but Verity Elizabeth wins for me.

Onceuponatimethen · 01/04/2018 22:25

Verity wins for me!

I prefer Julia to Juliet but do like Juliet.

TheLegendOfBeans · 01/04/2018 22:25

Oh wow, these were on our final list for DD, I love them both!

unhelpful

Oly5 · 01/04/2018 22:30

Love Juliet, hate Verity. I know a Juliet and she’s never called Julie!

Habanero · 01/04/2018 22:32

Both those names rock! You have good taste in baby names Smile

theanonymum1 · 01/04/2018 22:32

I didn’t like Juliet... but then Juliet Elizabeth is so pretty! I don’t like Julie/Jules as shortened versions though

DontbeaDickaboutit · 01/04/2018 22:34

Verity, means The Truth.

I have a very close friend called Verity, we call her V xxx

scrivette · 01/04/2018 22:44

Verity

Marioki · 01/04/2018 22:45

I was at school with a Verity. She used to get called Ferret. I think it's a nice name but that might be worth considering.

electricblue2017 · 01/04/2018 23:12

We are calling our soon to be born DD Juliet Elizabeth

MadMaryBoddington · 01/04/2018 23:17

Juliet. Verity is fussy and twee.

TroubledLichen · 01/04/2018 23:17

Hands down Juliet!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 01/04/2018 23:18

Lovely choices OP. I probably prefer Juliet of the two. Verity can sounds a bit like ferrety, but I still like it Grin

immortalmarble · 01/04/2018 23:19

Both lovely but I slightly prefer Juliet Verity if that helps at all.

AnyaMoondial · 01/04/2018 23:25

Juliet

Anythingforacatslife · 01/04/2018 23:39

Both lovely. However my dd misheard Verity, who is a friend of my ds. She is now forever destined to be known as Rarity (as in her favourite my little pony) and so we would choose Juliet.

SleightOfMind · 01/04/2018 23:53

Love Julia and all it’s diminutives but doesn’t work with our surname.

Verity is ok but a bit worthy.

Joeybee · 02/04/2018 00:48

I like them both. Juliet would probably annoy me because of the alternate spellings people would use. So Verity - it's nice and underused but classy and elegant.

gossipgirl28 · 02/04/2018 00:59

Juliet is very classy! Verity sounds old to me and would be shortened to Vera. Baby Vera doesn't sound right x

TheCriminalMind · 02/04/2018 01:06

Juliet! I think Juliet Elizabeth sounds lovely.

villainousbroodmare · 02/04/2018 01:35

Verity is more unusual.

Verity. Juliet is nice, but if you're against shortenings you have to admit it is more likely that Juliet will become Julie or Jules than Verity would become Vera.
Ferret? Kids pick on other kids not because of their names, but because of other reasons. It's not a reason not to choose a name, unless you already foresee that your unborn child is likely to be an outcast for her entire school career, for whatever reason. And that would be weird.
I've known a handful of Verity's but many more Jul-versions, so for rarity (see what I did there? Har har) I'd probably go for Verity for that reason too.
It's got an 'ee' sound on the end which fits in with the idea of 'cute' on a baby, but as a whole name it is really dignified and pleasing as an adult or teenager.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 02/04/2018 10:38

Juliet Elizabeth sounds fab to me. Both of those were on my shortlist for Dd. I do like Verity too but not as much
