Can you give me your preference from Alice, Eleanor or Abigail. We had picked Alice but everyone we have told seem to hate it.

Alice is ok but Eleanor tops it for me. Classic and beautiful. Don't like Abigail.

daisypond · 30/03/2018 20:13

They're all nice. Eleanor and Alice are very similar types of names. Abigail doesn't fit quite so well. I don't think it matters one bit if a name can't be shortened, so go for Alice if that's what you like.

Loandbeholdagain · 30/03/2018 20:16

Alice is beautiful
Ellie is virtually every girl at the moment.
Abigail is nice but Alice tops it.

I like all three. Alice is lovely, OP.
Can I just ask, how would you pronounce Eleanor? It seems to be pronounced differently in different places.

ElizaDontlittle · 30/03/2018 20:22

I like Alice best - would be on my list! I do also like Eleanor shortened to Nell, and I don't dislike Abigail - but Alice shines.

DramaAlpaca · 30/03/2018 20:23

Alice is my favourite.

Checkedwoolblanket · 30/03/2018 20:24

I like them all too although I don’t like Elllie as a nn.

I have an Abigail, she is the only one in her year and was the only one all though primary school. Not sure if it is more popular now, she has always been Abigail, never Abi.

Olivo · 30/03/2018 20:24

A,ice is lovely. Can be Al if you want to shorten.

YoucancallmeVal · 30/03/2018 20:47

Love Alice. Like Eleanor. Can't stand Abigail and particularly abi.

Puffycat · 30/03/2018 20:48

I love them all but Alice is definitely my favourite
Means ‘of the nobility’ 😉

AdaColeman · 30/03/2018 20:55

Eleanor.

Not at all keen on Abigail.

formerbabe · 30/03/2018 20:55

Alice is my least favourite. It's very twee.

TempusFugitive · 30/03/2018 20:57

Eleanor.

summerlovingliz · 30/03/2018 20:57

Alice Smile

RagamuffinCat · 30/03/2018 20:58

Definitely Alice!

DarkRoomDarren · 30/03/2018 20:59

Alice is lovely. I also really like Eleanor. Both v nice.

HeadingForSunshine · 30/03/2018 21:02

Look up Abigail's party.

It's Alice BTW. My Gr grandma was Eleanor (nn Nel), my grandma was Alice. Their middle names were Grace and Marina respectively. Grandma's sister was Evelyn Helena. Does it help to have alternatives of the genre?

SuperBeagle · 30/03/2018 21:58

I love Alice and Abigail.

I don't mind Eleanor, but am not as fussed about it as I am the other two.

totorosfluffytummy · 30/03/2018 22:07

Love all 3!

I know a lovely Abigail who gets called Abby/Abbie
And I know a lovely Eleanor who gets called Eleanor, Ellie and Els.
I don't know anyone called Alice but love the name x

pimlicolife · 30/03/2018 22:12

Abigail. Alice sounds twee to me.

Katara · 30/03/2018 22:13

Alice, then Eleanor

PandaCat · 31/03/2018 08:04

I have an Alice, it's such a pretty name. Eleanor was my first choice for DD2 but my partner wasn't keen so we went for something else. So either Alice or Eleanor Smile

TatianaLarina · 31/03/2018 08:10

Eleanor is dreadful I dont know why it’s so popular.

Alice is the nicest, and it’s a classic.

pilates · 31/03/2018 08:14

Eleanor is my favourite, but dislike Ellie

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 31/03/2018 08:33

Alice.
