Molly or Millie?

I know a young adult Molly and a Golden Retriever Millie.

Think both are very popular now

What about Camilla nm Millie

Like Molly, Love Millie and if my daughter hadn't have been born so close to the millennium it would have been her name.

I have a Millicent (Millie), she's nearly 12. Loves her full name and uses it as much as we use the short form really. And despite what is read on here, we must live somewhere where(Millie) is not that popular

I was just about to say Molly is more substantial when reading the first page...I see Buntys done it for me.

I think both names are a bit insipid but Molly definitely has the edge, Millie is very fluffy sounding to me.

Molly is better as a standalone name; Millie still seems like a shortening for Amelia/Millicent/Camilla. That is despite the fact that there's the movie/stage show "Thoroughly Modern Millie", in which Millie from the 1920s is a standalone name.

@Raaah I've never met another Millicent. I so hope my DD loves her name as she gets older. She's only 4 months but it's such a great name and lots on here don't like it. It's a classic imo.

Romilly could be shortened to Milly, and maybe even Molly at a stretch.

I prefer Molly over Millie and the spelling Mollie over Molly.
