Fingal is also not an Irish boys name

It’s the Scottish version of Fionn mac Cumhaill.

OP has not said she’s Irish.

Like Finnian and Finbar as well.

Finnian is the closest to Finnegan.

He grew whiskers on his chinnigen. The wind came out and blew them in again....

Poor old Michael Finnigan. Begin again!

I've only ever heard it as a surname but it always makes me think of the taste of vinegar! I love Finn (one of the nicest teenage boys I know is called Finn) and don't mind Finnian and Finlay, though I'd probably avoid Finlay because there's more than one way to spell it.

There is only one N in Finian.

I think it’s a good second name Smile

There is only one N in Finian

It’s spelt both ways, from the Gaelic Fionnan, as above.
