Still struggling for boys names!

Honest opinions on the name Fletcher for a boy?

OH still not wanting biblical names, and we don't want overly common names, which narrows the choices somewhat!

Sorry OP but it’s really bad. Makes me think of “Fletch” in Porridge as lots have said and where I live (East London) it’s the name given to children by parents thf less polite folk than I might call “chavs”.

You learn something new every day!

Never heard of most of these issues before! Points taken and considered though. Porridge means nothing to me, or most of my friends so that association doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I know one little boy called Fletcher aka "Etch" and he's gorgeous. However, going by the above it appears most hate it. Perhaps you have to know one to love the name😊

Thanks all!

I am old enough to remember Porridge, but “Fletcher” to me is my friend’s 4 year old. Very chatty, highly intelligent, and cute as a button. He is often know as a surname based nickname. There’s sometimes a little confusion because his surname is also a name that could be a surname or first name. I understand your reasons for liking this name. I like Frazer too.

Awful. A mixture of phlegm and retch to my ears.
