In need of some honest opinions please!
We’ve just found out we’re expecting a boy and are over the moon! We found a name we both like but need some opinions on it as we can’t decide if it sounds right or if family are far too polite to say it’s a little odd..!

The name, Benjamin.
Sounds harmless right? The catch is our surname is Bennett.
Benjamin Bennett, or most likely Ben Bennett in later life.

What do you think, yay or nay?

Thank you for any comments in advance.

Meh, I think it can work. Magnus Magnusson, Ben Bennett. I don’t think there’s anything too wrong with it.

I think Benjamin Bennett sounds great, and I assume you’d break the name up with a non-Ben middle name so when written you’d not particularly notice the illiteration.

Ben Bennett sounds like a cartoon character!

strawberrypenguin · 16/03/2018 19:01

I think it's fine! Maybe don't shorten to Ben though

Absolute no, my dsis went to school with a Ben Bennett and he was teased mercilessly throughout his entire school life! There are so many other names you could choose!!

Mamabear4180 · 16/03/2018 19:29

He might get Benjamin Button which is what I first saw then realised it was Bennett.

Whatever your son's name, he'll find something about it to dislike when he's older. I changed my name to Linda when I was 14 as I hated my unique real name. Thank goodness I wasn't able to permanently change it!

Benjamin Bennett or Ben Bennett both sound good to me. Choose what you feel is right .
