Struggling with girls names...
Baby girl due mid August who has a brother with a grandad name which is very marmite.
Looking for something vintage but struggling.
Mabel is a front runner at the moment.... I quite like Marigold too.
Please help... Any ideas much appreciated x

Mabel Francesca
Is it not too much of a mouth full? I guess middle names don't get used very often.

Gloria. Really love this.

LastNightsMakeUp · 09/03/2018 15:17

Have you considered Caro (dear/beloved) or Adelaide (nobility)?

Marisol is nice too. I actually like August for a girl but I think I'm in the minority!

I love Mabel and Marigold

I also second Norma - very marmite, vintage chic

Doris
Dilys
Sibyl
Blanche

Constance can be shortened to Connie which I think is lovely! My sister is called Connie and I’ve never met another. She always gets comments on how pretty her name is

LoveInTokyo · 15/03/2018 08:08

What about Rosa?

Stronger and more original than rose, perfect for August when the roses will be in bloom.

Harebellmeadow · 15/03/2018 23:57

Nerine - a summer flower.

Buxbaum · 16/03/2018 06:33

If you like Daisy you could use Margaret or Marguerite to give the nn Daisy.

daisypond · 16/03/2018 11:19

I really dislike Mabel and Elsie as well. I think they will date terribly. I think Daisy is far better than either Mabel and Elsie. I do rather like Marigold, but people will be reminded of washing-up gloves. I like Nina. I know three - one is Italian and two are Russian. I wouldn't say that was a vintage name, though, and it is perhaps heading towards the bland/classic (take your pick).
