New name added to our (very short) list. How many Albies do you know?

Full name would be Albert.

I love it! Very sweet. Smile

BeverlyHillsBillie · 25/02/2018 17:58

I don't know any and I absolutely hate it. Sorry.

I know one Albie, aged 3, short for Albion!

thisismadness77 · 25/02/2018 18:11

I don’t know any, I know one 4 year old Albert/Bert and he is very cute. Alba was on my girls list. Appreciate that you didn’t ask for opinions but I think it’s a nice name. :)

FreeNiki · 25/02/2018 18:11

Sounds a bit like Aldi.

Prefer Bertie which is a great name.

squishee · 25/02/2018 18:16

"Racist dragon" comes to mind for me too. Sorry!
Damn, now I have the song on repeat in my head...

Thingvellir · 25/02/2018 18:25

I know a couple of Bertie's short for Albert and think it's nice.

I think Albie sounds sweet for a very young child but will start to feel quite babyish later on - my DS now 7 hates the shortened version we have always used from his traditional name with a passion, and wants us to call him a different abbreviation now which is hard! He gets really embarrassed when I call him when he's with his friends Sad

seven201 · 25/02/2018 18:33

I know a few. I like it, I'm not keen on Albert personally.

Chienrouge · 25/02/2018 18:35

I know 3 under 3

ChocolateCrunch · 25/02/2018 19:37

Prefer Albert as full name, with Bert/Bertie as nn.

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/02/2018 19:41

Not over keen on Albert but i quite like the nn Albie

Cosmoa · 25/02/2018 20:17

My beloved Grandfather was called Albie and it's one of the only old classic names that I love for a baby! It's only a letter different to Alfie anyway which is very popular..

suz1rr · 25/02/2018 20:39

My nephew is Albie, he is 6, was the first time I had heard the name.

SumAndSUbstance · 25/02/2018 21:13

I know one - he's five.

chezmk1988 · 25/02/2018 22:44

Adore Albie as a nn for Albert. Love Albert. I would end up using Bertie though

Ojoj1974 · 25/02/2018 22:46

1 and he belongs to a traveller family in our village...

Ojoj1974 · 25/02/2018 22:47

However, I know a few Alberts and they are gorgeous. NN Bertie though not Albie
