Both are horrible. But Piper is better if there had to be a choice.

DramaAlpaca · 25/02/2018 15:06

Neither are nice at all, particularly Harper which is awful. Sorry.

PutYourSlippersOn · 25/02/2018 16:35

I prefer Piper but don't love it.

Chocolateyescakeyes · 25/02/2018 16:57

I love Piper.

Redpramlady · 25/02/2018 17:20

Harper for me

georgie262 · 25/02/2018 17:43

My cousin just had a boy but her girl names were ‘Piper Rose’ and ‘Indie Rose’

anxious2017 · 25/02/2018 17:54

They're both awful Sad

Lots of siblings being born to the children I teach are being called Harper. I guess people want to be like the Beckhams. I know at least four dogs called Piper.

FreeNiki · 25/02/2018 18:16

I'm not keen on either. Harper makes me.think harping on, Piper is descriptive.

I don't think people think names through very well.

On another thread a while ago one choice in a list was Violet Piper. That's a description not a name. I pictured a Scottish bagpiper dressed in violet tartan when I read Violet Piper.

But if I had to choose one Piper is best.

gladivegotyouforadvice · 25/02/2018 18:18

Piper or Skylar

Jammycustard · 25/02/2018 18:20

Neither.

MikeUniformMike · 25/02/2018 18:20

They are surnames not girl's names. There are thousands of beautiful names out there, can't you pick one of those? Harper and Piper will date, and probably be a bit downmarket.

Harper

AmysTiara · 25/02/2018 18:23

Piper. Because of Charmed

Doratheexplorer78 · 25/02/2018 19:44

The poshest couple I know (and I know quite a few), have a daughter called Piper. They're quite 'alternative' and also have a Daphne. I like it, but agree that it might date. I do think names are changing though. They've had a few comments along the lines of, 'what if she grows up to be a barrister?' Well, you could say the same about Daisy, Poppy, Evie, Milly etc etc. I think people grow into their names and while WE might judge people with 'different' names, I don't think the next generation will as they will have grown up with so many different names! As long as they are spelt correctly, I don't think there is too much to judge. I think the name Harper is pretty, but the Beckham connection would put me off.

Quickerthanavicar · 25/02/2018 19:57

I like both

Oysterbabe · 25/02/2018 20:02

I like both but slightly prefer Harper.
