So we had Gravity and Bamboo, on previous threads.

I've now seen a Chilli-Rose.

Anyone else? And we're not talking 'Ottilie' or 'violet' we want the one offs! Grin

Chilli-Rose. Is she a tarantula. Grin

HuskyMcClusky · 25/02/2018 09:38

Oh God, a lot of them are ridiculous.

An Australian one has a Billie-Violet and a Snow.

Mrsknackered · 25/02/2018 09:51

Hendrix-Cobain Santa Claus.

I really like the name Hendrix though!

I’m confused! Are these real children’s names? Surely not!

Mrsknackered · 25/02/2018 12:18

Through another forum I came across a woman who runs a fashion business (in America), whose kids are called Cipher, Sahwin Atticus, Carbon Black and Hallow Snow. Cipher and Hallow are girls.

easypeasylife · 26/02/2018 20:10

I really like Ottilie!

FartnissEverbeans · 26/02/2018 20:11

I kind of like Chilli-Rose!! BlushGrin

firawla · 26/02/2018 21:00

I like Chilli-Rose! Wouldn’t pick for my own child, but it works in a way.. like Chilli from TLC

SuperBeagle · 26/02/2018 21:08

I like Billie Violet. I'd lose the hyphen and make Violet the middle name.

I don't think Billie is that uncommon here in Australia though.

Mrsknackered · 26/02/2018 21:40

I love Billie and Ottilie!

I think Billie-Violet was pointed out because it is a mouthful (I know a few billie's in the U.K.) and I said I didn't mean 'Ottilie' as an example of an unusual insta name, as it really isn't as unusual as the likes of Chilli-Rose!

I quite like Gravity! It's quite a pretty sound! Luckily my childbearing days are over. I had Lyric, Sonnet and Amaryllis on my list. DD is glad she is called Ava. đŸ˜‚

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 26/02/2018 21:57

I also rather liked Miscellany as a name. I might put it out there as a suggestion on Instagram.

HuskyMcClusky · 27/02/2018 01:09

There’s that one blogger with twins called Reverie and Boheme.

toffee1000 · 27/02/2018 01:39

Chilli-Rose does have a kind of ring to it...

LolitaLempicka · 27/02/2018 02:22

I think it would be much nicer as Chile, the place, rather than chilli, the food.

HuskyMcClusky · 27/02/2018 02:25

I guess I think the whole concept of naming your child ‘random word I like the sound of’ is weird.

Although if I did, I’d have my little family of:

Oasis (boy)
Lullaby (girl)
Chai (girl)
Flokati (boy)

SuperBeagle · 27/02/2018 02:34

I'd have an Alchemy and a Halcyon then, Husky Could go for either sex. Grin

pallisers · 27/02/2018 02:36

Through another forum I came across a woman who runs a fashion business (in America), whose kids are called Cipher, Sahwin Atticus, Carbon Black and Hallow Snow. Cipher and Hallow are girls

Basically she went through the Farrow and Ball list of paint names for inspiration.

HuskyMcClusky · 27/02/2018 02:37

OOh, Super, so fab and v unisex!! Grin

mynameisnotmichaelcaine · 27/02/2018 06:42

Alchemy is awesome. "So, you're Al, is it short for Alistair or Alan?"...

SuperBeagle · 27/02/2018 08:24

Thanks Husky and myname DD2 is only 13 months old, perhaps she hasn't yet learnt her name and I can change it? Grin Wink

Mrsknackered · 27/02/2018 12:36

There's a celeb with a son called Audio Science, can't remember who though? I just remember reading that they wanted 'a word not a name, so read the dictionary'

I'm changing both my DSs names. Meet Vertigo and Delicious. The latter is pronounced De-liss-ee-Ă¼s

Superbeagle, Halcyon is the name of my Irish great-aunt. Never heard of another but it’s quite pretty.
