I slightly prefer Sophie but they are both lovely names.

MammieBear · 24/02/2018 18:43

Emilia goes better with Imogen in my opinion and the cute nn Milly works well, middle name lovely too.

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 24/02/2018 18:44

Both lovely

BewareOfDragons · 24/02/2018 18:50

They're both pretty. If I had to pick a favourite, I would probably pick Sophie.

FeedtheTree · 24/02/2018 18:50

They're both really pretty. I prefer Sophie (or Sophia?) which is my favourite girls' name ever. And would avoid the Emmy/Immy confusions. Even Immy/Milly are a bit similar, whereas Sophie and Imogen are distinct from each other.

flissfloss65 · 24/02/2018 18:50

Both lovely but I like Emilia best but is Imogen ever called Immy,? Immy and Milly are quite similar but full names not.

upsideup · 24/02/2018 18:51

Emilia goes better with Imogen.

I would worry about that too actually, Emilia can easily be shortened to Emmy as well and Emmy and Immy is a bit much

Twinkletoes007 · 24/02/2018 18:56

Yes she's an Immy Hmm

Emilia

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 24/02/2018 18:58

Imogen and Sophie/Sophia.

GreyGardens88 · 24/02/2018 18:59

I'm not a big fan of either but if I had to choose I'd say Sophie it's less middle class wannabeish trendy name

Enidblyton1 · 24/02/2018 19:00

Both lovely names, but you can't have an Immy and an Emmy Blush

upsideup · 24/02/2018 19:04

I would go for Sophie then. Immy and Milly are close enough but wouldnt want to risk Emmy and Immy

Twinkletoes007 · 24/02/2018 19:04

Yeah think that's probably right Enid. Can't guarantee that wouldn't be the nickname I guess

I prefer Emilia but in its entirety. Why ruin such a gorgeous nAme. If you like Millie just call her Millie. I do quite like Em as a nn, though. However I don't think Imogen and Emilia really fit well together. I'm getting all tongue twisted in my head trying to say them together. Plus I'd Emilia wants to be Em/Emmie and Imogen wants to be Immy. You'll end up with a Immy and Emmie.
Sophie is nice. Sophia is much prettier though. Imogen and Sophia are prefect together.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/02/2018 19:09

I agree Imogen and Sophie/a are distinctive from each other. Theyre also from the same name pod as well. IYSWIM.
Which makes them a perfect sibset.

ChocolateCrunch · 24/02/2018 20:28

Sophie

DramaAlpaca · 24/02/2018 20:48

I like both very much, but if you forced me to choose I'd say Sophie.

Sophronia · 24/02/2018 20:52

Sophie

chezmk1988 · 24/02/2018 20:54

Emilia

cedoren · 24/02/2018 20:56

Sophie

tarheelbaby · 24/02/2018 21:09

Neither really.

Don't go crazy and name her Vulcan but equally if your intention is to choose an over-used name then you are right on track. Truly, some people like that. They deliberately choose Isabel(le) and Oliver on the grounds that 'everybody likes this name' and 'it's my favorite name'. But Millie, a diminutive for a few names, is dime a dozen and Sophie is 2 per class.

Juliet and Rose are both much nicer, accord well with Imogen/Immy and are not so hackneyed.

If Emilia and Sophie are your wealthy, childless great aunts, by all means, proceed. If they are important family names, do use them but maybe as middle names: Juliet Emilia/Sophie Rose.

17caterpillars1mouse · 24/02/2018 21:21

I prefer Emilia

DetectiveDog · 24/02/2018 21:25

Awwlookatmybabyspider what’s a name pod?!?
