Hi ladies,

I need help picking a girl and boy name. Surname is pronounced r-ozzie. Some of the names I like I'm not sure go with the surname. Help! Middle name likely to be Jean or Dorothy for girl and Frank for boy

Girls:
Eleanor- love but OH had a thing for a woman called this whilst we were together

Eloise-love this

Juliette- love but will people think Romeo and Juliet?

Evangeline- not sure it goes well with Jean and too long to add Dorothy?

Francesca-love especially Frankie as a nn

Susannah-not sure on Susannah but love Susie

Elsa- love but let it go?

Evelyn- love

Saoirse- have Irish family but live in England and will probably get said and spelt wrong?

Marianne- prettier version of my grandmas name.

Beatrix- think other half is against this but love trixie. Does this name sound pretentious?

Alayna- quite like a little laney

Leonora- love but with surname?

Niamh- ok but not top of my list.

Adeline- not sure on addie as nn

Eliana- nice but not top of list.

Theadora- too push for working class family?

Elaina- love

Emily- too common?

Margo- seen some people say it's too harsh?

Elva- opinions?

Boys:

Ezra- my all time favourite boys name but not sure if it is too much with an R surname. Will be heartbroken lol

Micah- love it.unusual but biblical and love mike

Shane- is it a bit common?

Nathaniel- not keen on Nathaniel but love nate

Zachary- with surname?

Tobias- prefer Toby

Travis- like but not my usual style.

Jared- already have 2 boys with j names so wanted to avoid but like the name

Ryan- too common?

Thanks

  1. Saoirse and Jared
  2. Travis and Elva
  3. Rian (nicer than Ryan) and Leona (would use this over Leonora).

Theodora
Tobias

Micah and Saoirse are my favs.

Elva- reminds me vulva

Tobias is nice but hate Toby.

Ezra- love

Margo-hate

Nate is nice

The rest are so so. Some are really common/popular now like Evelyn and Zachary. Others like Shane and Ryan are boring.

Eliana or Susannah
Ezra or Toby

Love Leonora!

Don't like your boys names

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 24/02/2018 23:01

What about Elsie? Elsie jean sound really nice.
Boys names I think Ezra is nice, putting Frank I. The middle name will space it out a bit so it do3snt clash with surname.
My DP has a weird surname so I had trouble with my DD name I originally wanted tayla but it didn’t sound right with the surname. Luckily our second choice worked well

SpongeCake23 · 24/02/2018 23:21

Marianne

Travis

LauraO1905 · 25/02/2018 08:14

Evelyn (but biased as that's my DD's name)

Nathaniel (have always loved Nathan for a boy)

Elfyn · 25/02/2018 09:09

You can’t have Eleanor with that backstory!

My faves are:

Susannah
Marianne
Beatrix
Leonora
Theodora

Micah
Nathaniel
Zachary
