Between two boy’s names

Just found out we are having a little boy. Have a DS already, who has a fairly uncommon one syllable welsh name.

Name choices are Evander or Cassius. I appreciate they are quite full on, but we would only use an abbreviation day to day, probably Evan / Cass. The longer versions would just give him choice later on.

Any preference?

Both boxing names?

Evan by miles. Even more so since the Rooneys had Cass Mac

Oh who cares about the Rooney's!

It's not like the child will be famous forever or talked about often... People don't mention the beckhams every time the name Harper is mentioned!

You’re right, cosmoa - I hadn’t heard, and I imagine it’s only on people’s minds because it’s recent.

movablefeast - Evander Holyfield and Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali). I hadn’t twigged until DH mentioned it!

Both lovely. Sorry, no help!

I had to sit by a Cassius when I was in school and he was the sort of boy who would throw a chair at the teacher. I know another, younger Cassius and he was also a little shit who ended up getting expelled. So to me Cassius will always be naughty, I know that’s a generalisation but they’re the only 2 Cass’s I’ve known.

Evander/Evan is my definite preference!
