Twin girls

Hello! We are expecting twins later in the year and are happy with the names we have chosen if they are 2 boys or a boy and a girl, but not 100% on names for 2 girls. What are everyone's opinions on Phoebe & Zara? TIA!

Lovely names! I don’t hear of them much recently. Only people I recall with those names are school friends (I’m 26 now)

swanmills · 16/02/2018 00:34

Love them. Known but not overly popular I'd imagine they would be the only in their class. Fab choices !

DuggeeHugs · 16/02/2018 00:42

Great names that go well together without being matchy

RebeccaWrongDaily · 16/02/2018 00:51

i know twins called Phoebe and Lara. Love them as a twin set

SuperBeagle · 16/02/2018 03:36

I like them, though I think Phoebe and Zoe would "go" better.

Mrsknackered · 16/02/2018 07:03

I like Zara. I dislike Phoebe a lot, and I also know lots of them. I know I'm in the minority though.

Perhaps:

Zara & Iona
Zara & Erin
Zara & Heloise
Zara & Kaia
Zara & Manon

I'm sorry but I just find Phoebe really unattractive. Visually it reminds me of amoeba and the sound is really screechy... Feeeeebee. But clearly it's a popular name and I'm in the minority. I do love Zara though, elegant and feminine without being too frilly.

Suggestions:
Zara and Esme
Zara and Imogen
Zara and Felicity
Zara and Olivia
Zara and Elise
Zara and Lydia

I don’t really like Zara. The angles of the letter Z look aggressive to me.

You shouldn’t listen to strangers’ views. We are weird.

SalutHallo · 16/02/2018 08:11

I think they match well! Not too common but not ‘out there’ either. I really like Zara.

MammieBear · 16/02/2018 08:28

They sound fine together.

catchyjem · 16/02/2018 12:00

Great choices , I think they work perfectly together.

daisypond · 16/02/2018 12:12

They're both nice, but I prefer Phoebe to Zara. Zara feels like a "yoonique" name to me, unless you're from East Europe - like a misspelling of Sara, which I much prefer. I agree with the suggestion above about Zoe - which matches better with Phoebe, as they're both Greek.

JumpingFrogs · 16/02/2018 16:05

I have twin girls and whilst I wouldn't necessarily choose Phoebe or Zara myselfI think they are great names for twin sisters as they don't sound too twee or matchy. My girls are 15 and are thankful their names don't match !

TulipsInABlueVase · 16/02/2018 16:15

I don't like Iike either (sorry). As a previous poster said, it's good that you've chosen two different sounding names. It means that that the names don't sound too cutesy and they can have their own identities.

I much prefer Lara to Zara. And Phoebe is very popular at the minute. I know three, she'll be one of a few in her class.

MikeUniformMike · 16/02/2018 18:01

Phoebe and Zara are great. I like both names a lot. They are not too matchy matchy either.
