We just can't agree on names.

Girls: would like something nature inspired (possibly for middle name if it's a bit out there). These are names we both like but not necessarily love:

Rosanna
Isla
Jessica

Savanna (is this chavvy?)

Boys: not many we like but prefer strong, classic names:

Max
Alexander
William
Ethan
Daniel
Jack

Thoughts or suggestions of names we might like most welcome!

Out of your girls' names, I like Isla, Erin and Skye the most. Isla is very popular so she may end up being one of many in her class at school.

Madison seems precocious. Savanna is okay but I would go for the more typical spelling 'Savannah'. Some will say it's chavvy. It's very American.

Out of your boys', I like Ethan and Alexander the most. The others are all very popular.

I know some will say that they're popular for a reason but I just think Alexander and Ethan have a lovely timelessness

Rosanna - pretty. Do you like Roz?
Isla - pretty. Overpopular
Jessica - classic
Erin - becoming very popular
Kara - Cara is better
Madison - No. It's a surname.
Lucie - Lucy is the preferred spelling. Classic.
Skye - pretty but a bit downmarket
Estelle - type of Skoda, before Skoda was acceptable.
Ferne - prefer Fern.
Rain - A bit wet..
Savanna (is this chavvy?) - It's a plain.

Max - love it
Alexander - classic
William - classic.
Ethan - popular but I'm not keen
Daniel - always popular
Jack - oh god another one. It's ok though

We end up reverting to 'popular' names as I suppose these are safe and neither if us veto's them, not particularly because we love them.

It's difficult cos DH is sooo traditional and I like more unusual yet not too wacky.

My eldest is a Rosanna. Rosie was (and still is) used as a pet name. I felt it was elegant enough to suit any age, and unusual without being too wacky. To me, Madison is a surname, but that may not bother you. Isla is beautiful but very popular (if that bothers you). I love Jessica, and Estelle is pretty too. Personally I would use the spellings Fern, Cara and Lucy (more obvious spellings) - all of them are lovely. I like a lot of your suggestions. Of the boys names I like Daniel and William best - both are strong, classic names. To me Jack is just a shortening forJohn, but I know lots of people like it..

I love ALL your boys names. For the girls I dislike Rain and Madison. Not very keen on Savanna, Ferne or Skye. But like Jessica and really like Rosanna, Estelle and Erin.

Girl suggestions: Carys, Juniper, Jessamine, Holly, Fleur, Elin.

I love Estelle. Jack is my favourite from your boys list.

Rowan or Robyn/Robin are unisex and nature inspired.

Just wanted to point out that peter Phillips (as in princess anne's son) 's daughter is called savannah! I think it's lovely and not chavvy at all. Also Marcia cross (bree from desperate housewives) has twins- Eden and savannah.

Of the others I only really like Ferns. Isla is lovely but so very popular. Since you like savanna and also Rosanna, what about simply Anna? It's beautiful and timeless and very underused. Love Alexander.

I quite like all the boys names, with Ethan and WIlliam being the least favourites. That's just personal taste though.

I don't like giving people names of other things - so Fern, Skye, and Rain would particularly not be my taste.

Of the girls names I like Rosanna, Kara and Estella.

Madison and Savannah are American and very chavvy.

Rosanna - nice. Or Rosalind/Rosamund/Rose/Anna
Isla - OK, but very common these days. I lump it in with Skye.
Jessica - OK, though I'm not really keen - it reminds me of "dessicated"
Erin - OK. I know a few late teens called this. Nice if you don't want anything too cutsey.
Kara - spelling is odd. Cara is better, and is nice. Carina?
Madison - as far from a nature name as you could get. It's a surname and means "son of Matthew".
Lucie - Lucy is better. Timeless.
Skye - OK, but I'm not wild. Same category as Isla.
Estelle - I like this, but I probably prefer Stella/Esther/Hester
Ferne - weird spelling. Fern is better - nice.
Rain - bit too hippy.
Savanna - I quite like this. I lump this in with names like Sienna.
Max - nice, but as a short form for something longer - Maxim, Maximilian, etc.
Alexander - can't go wrong with this.
William - nice but a bit bland.
Ethan - I quite like this. But the very few I know are in their early 20s and it seemed quite unusual then. I think it might date.
Daniel - solid name
Jack - not as a name by itself. John with a nn of Jack is better. John is great.

I like Lucie Rain or Jessica Willow.
Daniel Ethan, or Max William.
