My husband and I are expecting our first baby next week, but despite narrowing our list of names down to four we are still struggling to choose. I would really appreciate your help as we are getting nowhere.
Our choices are:
Edward nn Ted
Arthur nn Art/Artie
Alfred nn Alf/Fred
Albert nn Bert

Thank you so much!

I didn't like Edward for quite a while. I loved Eddie but wouldn't give a child a nickname as a first name. I thought Edward didn't really sound like anything. But now I love it. I love the nicknames you can have with Edward. Eddie, Teddy or Woody as a baby/child. He could then stick with Eddie, Ed, Ted or Edward as he grows up. I think it's such a lovely name that will grow with the person.

Edward first easily then Arthur.

Definitely Arthur, for me.

Love them all, which isn't much help! Nice to have the longer name for future and Nick name for every day.

I'd say Edward too, with nn Ned. Edward Arthur would be a brilliant name
