To go with Poppy...

I'm looking for a DS and a DD name as we aren't finding out. Our DD1 is called Poppy with a two syllable surname. I know some people hate associating siblings names with each other but I like it and was looking for suggestions.

So far we like, DD - Hattie, Ettie and Amelie
DS - Ezra

I don't like Ezra, Ettie or Amelie. Ezra is biblical and hard sounding, Ettie doesn't seem a name and Amelie is very popular.
Hattie is OK.

ShowOfHands · 11/02/2018 18:05

Love Ezra and Ettie.

I know 3 Poppys and all 3 have a sister named Grace. Maybe it's an unwritten rule?

TimesNewRoman · 11/02/2018 18:08

Poppy and Amelie sound lovely together. Agree that Ezra sounds a bit harsh.

rubyslippers83 · 11/02/2018 18:08

Love Grace Smile
But also think Ezra and Ettie are lovely. Not so keen on Amelie. Good luck!

Ezra is awesome. I think it's top 100 now?

Ettie is also lovely. I'd avoid Amelie - it's a grey name but has been popular for a while and rose as a result of the film, so it could date quickly.

ChocolateCrunch · 11/02/2018 20:20

I like Ezra. Or how about Elijah, Milo, Isaac or Jasper?
From your girls' list, I like Hattie and Amelie. Also like Norah, Edith, Clara and Alice.

daisypond · 11/02/2018 20:27

I don't think the names you've picked go with Poppy at all. Ezra seems way off beam. Hattie and Ettie are both diminutives for a longer name, and Amelie is tacky/cutesy/will date (due to the film). I think most of the names that Babyspider has come up with are a much better fit. I'd also add Lily to that list.

RavenWings · 11/02/2018 21:03

I love Ezra.

Hattie - absolutely not
Ettie - better but still not keen. Etta is lovely.
Amelie - overrun with these (plus Amelia, Amalia etc) in schools. It'll date and blend in with the rest.

I know sisters who are Poppy and Daisy. They're both very pretty and flowery girls although it's probably not due to their names!
Ezra is a great boy's name but I don't think it really "matches" Poppy. I'd say something like Alfie, Archie, or Charlie
