Girls names - Chloe Kate

I really like the name Chloe Kate.
Not double barrelled, she'll be known as Chloe but with a middle name of Kate.

My husband doesn't think it goes together. What do you think?
Our sons called Charlie Daniel.

I've also got these names;

Evie Isabella
Evie Kate
Sophie Kate

Suggestions are welcome but I am very picky 😩

How hard is it deciding a persons name! It's got to suit them through their baby years, toddler years, childhood, teen years and then when they're an adult! Stressful!!! 😂

I don't think Kate ever 'goes' with any name as a middle name as its a diminutive of Catherine. To me it's like calling your child, say, Chloe Lizzie. What does your dh want as a middle name?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/02/2018 19:35

Sophie Katie is nice.
How about
Amelia Kate
Isabella Kate
Rosie Kate
Olivia Kate
Molly Kate

I like Chloe, but I don't think it works with Kate as a middle name. Chloe Katherine/Catherine is loads better, but perhaps is a bit of a mouthful with the double K sound, although it could be OK. I'm not keen on Evie as a first name because it's a diminutive. Sophie is nice.

DramaAlpaca · 04/02/2018 20:28

I think Chloe Kate is gorgeous.

As is Sophie Kate.

villainousbroodmare · 04/02/2018 20:30

I really like Kate but personally find Chloe extremely sickly. Cloying. All of your shortlisted names are ultra-popular - would you mind that?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/02/2018 20:32

Chloe Isabella.

AnyaMoondial · 04/02/2018 20:45

I think Chloe Kate sounds brilliant.

marmitecrumpets · 04/02/2018 20:46

I like Chloe Kate. Go for it!

Pebble10 · 04/02/2018 21:04

What about Chloe Isabella/Isabelle?

NapQueen · 04/02/2018 21:05

Kate is such a lovely name id go with that as the first name.

RavenWings · 04/02/2018 21:17

Kate is perfectly fine as a name by itself - I know a few people called Kate, not Catherine.

I'm not wowed by Kate personally, but that's another issue. I don't like Evie as it's too nicknamey and cutsie - fine for a toddler but not an adult. I'd go for Sophie Kate or Chloe Kate - probably Chloe as while I know a load of Sophie's in primary, I don't know nearly as many kids named Chloe.

Redwineistasty · 04/02/2018 21:19

Why not Kate as a first name?

TatianaLarina · 04/02/2018 21:25

Don’t really like any of them but I’d go with Chloé as the most interesting and choose a different middle name. (Don’t think the two K sounds works)

Chloé Rose
Chloé Ava
Chloé Olivia

Dixiestampsagain · 04/02/2018 21:57

Chloe Kate is lovely (and there’s nothing wrong with Kate not ‘Catherine’ as a middle- or first- name; it’s established enough to have been a name in its own right for nearly 2 centuries!!).

FayJay · 04/02/2018 22:00

Chloe Kate is lovely.

And Kate isn’t just a diminutive of Catherine. It’s been an established name in its own right for a good long while now.

NooNooHead · 04/02/2018 23:20

Chloe Kate is really nice, and I love the name Chloe - but I am biased as my DD is a Chloe Ann!

I think Chloe Isabella works v well too.

PenguinsandPandas · 04/02/2018 23:25

I like Chloe but wouldn't have Kate for the middle name. Love Evie too.

Maybe Chloe Elise or Evie Isabella

emily199027 · 05/02/2018 10:17

Thank you everyone!
I'm so indecisive and my husband doesn't help! Men!

I've always been set on Evie Lila up until we found out it was a girl and now I'm just not sure about Evie at all!! I don't love it..and I really want to love the name we choose.
I don't like the name Kate as a first name, but I do like Katie - I don't think there's many Katie's around these days? Not many I know anyway!! I also like Sophie Kate though.

Last time we couldn't decide on a boys name at all...this time we had a boys name ready 😂 typical. (But I'm super happy it's a girl!!)

I have name changed just to come on and say that I am a Chloe Kate and I’ve always liked the illiterative rhythm of my name. To be honest nobody ever uses middle names other than in birth announcements so how the two names flow will not often be an issue people consider. Anyway, I’m forty and have always been very happy as a Chloe Kate so I say go for it!

emily199027 · 05/02/2018 10:40

@Mjnhb thank you for that! 😊 I was thinking this morning her middle name won't really be used anyway - unless when she gets older she chooses to use it like I did when I got into my teens (Emily Jayne)
I make/sell personalised cards so get to see lots of names (perfect job for baby names!!) and I don't see Chloe Kate very often, I made one the other week and that's where I got the name from!

There are quite a few kids named Katie ime. It does blend into the Sophie/Ellie etc names. Nothing wrong with it but not really an underused name.

PenguinsandPandas · 05/02/2018 14:08

About one Katie per class here but a nice name. Sometimes you get variation by area though but think ONS has stats on baby names.

WalkingUpTheMountain · 05/02/2018 14:47

I quite like Chloe Kate. There aren't many baby Chloes now.

I much prefer Choe to Evie and Sophie.
