Ava - Too Popular?

Our little girl is nearly 10 days old and we haven't picked a name

We like Ava but it's very popular and that's putting us off
Is it silly to not go with it because it's popular?

Has anyone any other suggestions?
We want something classic but not overly used....

I know loads of babies called Ava, how about Ayda?

The problem with "XYZ is too popular, why not name your child a slight twist on XYZ instead_?" is that loads of other people will do the exact same thing at the same time.

There is nothing wrong with having a popular name, but if the OP doesn't want a popular name that is fine too, and she should probably avoid Ava or anything that sounds similar to the above names if that is how she feels.

Yes it is as is Mia and Isla. Ella is probably the best of the short name bunch.

Eve is also nice for a shorter name as well.

Ava is beautiful, it wouldn't bother me that its popular, if you like it use it

I only know one Ava who's 10.

It is popular but if you really love it then don't let that put you off. Clearly there's a reason it's so popular - it's a nice name! I know it's nice to feel like you've picked a 'unique' name but ultimately it doesn't impact the child. Ask any Dave now in their early thirties whether it was an issue for them.
