Love it. My daughter is Grace.

JacintaJones · 29/01/2018 23:19

No

Lonesurvivor · 29/01/2018 23:24

It's a lovely name as is the Irish version Grainne.

MikeUniformMike · 30/01/2018 00:18

Grainne is lovely.

Calatheas · 30/01/2018 00:23

I like the name but I've met 3 in my life and two of them were thoroughly unpleasant!

MikeUniformMike · 30/01/2018 00:34

DramaAlpaca told me on another thread that Grainne is seriously middle aged. I still think it's nice but I'd bear that in mind. Thanks Drama.

DramaAlpaca · 30/01/2018 00:39

You're welcome Smile

I think it is a lovely pretty name. However for me, it's overpopularity about 5 years ago put me off it.

deptfordgirl · 30/01/2018 07:05

It's fine. I used to love it but it's popularity has put me off a bit.

pret · 30/01/2018 07:28

No, it's bland.

It's the grey bit - grey z

I just picture an old grey mouse. No idea why it's so overused.

BertrandRussell · 30/01/2018 07:49

Funny how people see things differently. My dd loved being Grey as a teenager. It felt like a really cool name to her.

Frazzled2207 · 30/01/2018 09:28

I like it.

However it is very common as a middle name, a bit like Rose, and that would put me off using it as a middle name if that's what you were thinking.

Would be unusual round here for a first name.

BlackberryandNettle · 31/01/2018 20:44

I like it a lot, classic and pretty

EggsonHeads · 31/01/2018 20:45

I think it is lovely.

Yukka · 31/01/2018 20:57

My sister is the Irish if grace, a very unusual Grainne pronounced grawn-ya that’s the easiest way to try and make the sound on text! My niece is grace, I do find it a little over used at the Mo. Shout in the park and ten kids will turn round....

LemonysSnicket · 31/01/2018 22:27

Yes

pret · 01/02/2018 22:29

My DD's friend gets very snippy if anyone tries to called her Grey, Bartram. Won't entertain it at all.

It is funny how they all all different. If we all had the same taste what a dull world we'd live in.

mamaduckbone · 01/02/2018 22:36

I think it’s lovely, and not at all associated with ‘a certain kind of femininity’. I know two Graces who both play rugby and it suits them just fine!
