Does Levi make you think:
A) Jewish? (She's not, is that a problem?)
B) that word that people don't like to hear but denotes a particular social background Confused
C) a nice name?
D) jeans Grin

B

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/01/2018 20:28

Sorry but B.
I picture a badly behaved child who's allowed to run a mock and the parents just laugh and let him get away with it.
They'd have no problems about sizing up the teacher if they dare complained about his behaviour.
Hope I've not caused upset but You or rather your friend did ask.

slowsloth · 27/01/2018 20:37

B & D

hotcrossbuns765 · 27/01/2018 20:39

B&D.

Mrsknackered · 27/01/2018 20:44

I love it, but prefer for a bit

Mrsknackered · 27/01/2018 20:44

*boy

ChocolateCrunch · 27/01/2018 20:52

B & D

Ginnotginger · 27/01/2018 20:59

A and D. First thought on seeing the name was tax collector so definitely biblical and second was Nick Kamen - I loved that ad.

TenThousandSpoons · 27/01/2018 20:59

First thought Jeans - but not in a bad way
Religious (Christian or Jewish)
Wouldn’t have thought B (chav?) but maybe because I’ve never met a Levi.

RapunzelLetDownYourHair7 · 27/01/2018 21:01

A bit of B but I think it could be a really cool name.

Bobbiepin · 27/01/2018 21:04

I'm Jewish and don't know any Levi's (well I know one but he isn't Jewish, he is a pain in the arse though). Levy is a Jewish surname, not Levi.

Tiredmum100 · 27/01/2018 21:08

Jeans. There is a child called that in school with dc. I always think of jeans when I hear his name.

Mulch · 27/01/2018 21:12

Levi is a common name within afro carribean community, there's a few in my family. it's as normal to us as say Oscar for white people and Muhammad for asains

MancUnicorn · 27/01/2018 21:16

B from personal experience

Ihatepompoussoccermums · 27/01/2018 21:38

Obviously makes you think of the jeans however I really like this name 😊

PeonyTruffle · 27/01/2018 21:38

Very much B and then jeans!

mondler · 27/01/2018 21:45

Jeans and Levi Roots for me...

NameChange30 · 27/01/2018 21:50

C. Cool name.
Possibly A but my DS has a Jewish name and we’re not Jewish, we like the name and decided it was no big deal.

FinnegansCake · 27/01/2018 21:58

B
My very first thought was Levi Bellfield

AdaColeman · 27/01/2018 22:01

I think it has certain religious significance to Jewish people, it would be similar to calling a child Vicar.

Itchytights · 27/01/2018 22:07

Same as FinnegansCake

I thought of Levi Bellfield as well.

< shudders>

skankingpiglet · 27/01/2018 22:24

Jeans and Reggae sauce for me. No negative feelings about the name.
I associate the name with the Caribbean community so would assume a Levi to have their roots there some where, but it wouldn't cause any more than a brief 'ah' if they weren't.

DH (whose DPs were Jamaican) says when he hears the name he thinks either black and inner city, or poor, white and possibly inner city.

lindsaydoll82 · 27/01/2018 22:27

Honestly the first thing I thought of was Brian Harvey from East17s dog Smile

Joeybee · 27/01/2018 22:28

Jeans, hipster, Levi Roots!

MollyHuaCha · 28/01/2018 00:51

It's a boys name. One of Joseph's brothers:

Reuben
Simeon
Levi
Judah
Issachar
Zebulon
Dan
Naphtali
Gad
Asher
Benjamin
