Just a tad bit of fun to settle a debate between me and some friends. We were talking about other names in the mix when we were pregnant as one is pregnant at the moment. When they asked me I told them 4 names in order of favouritism for boys. They disagreed and said what their order was. I said well I’m gonna consult the posters on mums net. So my 4 were.
Kai
Jesse
Blaine
Caleb

Which order would you say...

Caleb - fine
Jesse - ok
Blaine - awful
Kai - dire.

Caleb
Jesse
Blaine
Kai

but I would only use Caleb.
I like Jesse, but don't like confusion with Jessie
I really dislike Blaine and Kai (although love a pp suggestion of Malachi with Kai as nn)

Jesse

Thanks for the suggestions guys, tbh for a long time Caleb was at the top of my list with the intention of using cal as a nickname. But my little brothers name is callum and over time it just sounded too similar. It was still in my top 4. I really really like Jesse. But over here it’s more used as a girls name. It was just a friendly debate with my friends, I haven no intention or need to choose a name whatso ever. And @tatianalarina Kai might be the chavviest name where you live but I know many Kai’s who have respectable parents and are not chavs. And Blaine is in fact a name.... I know a few and not to mention heard it on tv a few times. The point is I usually choose names that won’t make my kids a high statistic. My son has 5 Oliver’s in his year alone and my daughter has 4 Olivia’s. The same with Amelia and Alfie... every year a few names seem to hit popularity. I want my kids to have their own identity not share it with 6 other kids in the year.

I live in England. I’ve no idea what you mean by respectable - Wayne Rooney?

Ihatepompoussoccermums · 24/01/2018 22:21

No.... I didn’t even know his son was called Kai, in case you hadn’t noticed england is a big place full of many Kai’s, don’t mean they are all chavs.
