Having dd in May. Already have ds called Alex. We really like Alice for a girl.

The names are just too similar aren't they?

Also Cara.

I wouldn't worry, siblings at a school my uncle teaches in are called Frank and Frances

BikeRunSki · 20/01/2018 20:13

I’m an Alice, one of my siblings was going to be an Alex but my parents decided against it because the names are too similar.

Fast forward 40 yrs. I work with an Alex and DH’s best friend is an Alex. Yep, the names are just too similar. Lots of confusion, but even entertaining any more!

Shame as Alice is lovely! But it really doesn't go with Alex.

grasspigeons · 20/01/2018 22:27

I find them too similar.

I mishear them as the same name occasionally if I'm introduced to an Alice or a girl Alex

I'm an Alice and a close friend is Alex and it's forever confusing. I have also never ordered a Starbucks without getting Alex on the cup, so would suggest too similar sorry. Maybe Violet or Annabell

BikeRunSki · 22/01/2018 08:03

Me too Alicely, but on the rare occasions I go to Starbucks I tell them that i’m called Stephen. When they look at me questioningly I say “with a ph”.

Theclockstruck2 · 28/01/2018 20:17

Anna would be lovely!

I have one of these names and was at school with the other. Too similar, it was endlessly confusing.
