Celeste?

I've got a bee in my bonnet about this name. I just keep going back to it. If it weren't for that awful 'Daphne and Celeste' band I think it would be perfect - nice sound, nice meaning. But because of the band I am worried it sounds a little cheesy. What do you think?

Sounds like molest to me, I loathe it but I know three!

I thought of the Marie Ceste first. Then the Celestine Prophecy. Then celestial beings.

That being said, I'd rather meet a baby Celeste than another ultra popular baby name.

I like Celeste! Also think of Daphne and Celeste but a baby being named this/children now won’t have the same association! Really like Daphne too actually

I like it v much and also love the little old lady in Babar however I discounted it for DD aa I hate the LES sound like in Leslie. It's just a sound o don't like.

How about Cecile, Cecelia or Cecily instead?

I'm early thirties. Have not heard of Daphne and Celeste. I think it's a pretty name that is kind of ageless for her. Go for it!

I clicked on this link and was about to say “I’d love it if it weren’t for Daphne and Celeste”! Though I know a couple of little Daphnes and I never even thought of the Daphne and Celeste thing...

I think Celeste is a beautiful name.

re the band- I only recognised it now when you mentioned it, otherwise it would never cross my mind when I hear the name Celeste.

I also think of Babar's wife before the band. I love this name. Trying to get my twin sister to name her daughter it as I won't get to use it but she doesn't share my enthusiasm!

Thanks guys! I think it's lovely too. So happy to hear people don't think Daphne and Celeste... I've had their 'ugly' song stuck in my head since I wrote this post and I hate them even more now!

I love the name Celeste, think it is so elegant and classy. It would be one of my choices but I could never get DH to agree.

I love it, especially pronounced the Italian way Che-leste....probably mainly because it was the name of my beloved cuddly bunny when I was little.
