I'm a Lara. Hated it as a kid as it was different. But I love it now. And as you've said, far less common than Olivia. Olivia is pretty but I wouldn't ever use it because there are so many about. It's almost like the Sarah/Laura of the early 90s.

BabloHoney · 03/01/2018 22:17

Love Lara (and Cara and Clara) Olivia / Livi is gorgeous too.

Other middle name ideas..
Lara Alice
Lara Nicole
Lara Kathryn
Lara Grace
Lara Marianne

PasstheStarmix · 03/01/2018 22:20

I like both names but not together, I don't like the double a ending sound lar-a isabell-a. You'd be much better with Lara Isabelle. It flows much better.

Lauren1x · 03/01/2018 22:24

Seeking miracles- aw it's nice to know you love your name, that was something I was worrying about LO growing up hating her name!

Passthestarmix- Love Lara Isabelle💗 Will add to the list thank you

Lara Isabel is perfect :)

(Vivienne, Josephine, Elizabeth, Imogen, Beatrice, Marguerite, Amabel, Annabel, Mabel, Florence, Clementine, Nathalie, Charlotte, Claire, Daphne and Violet would work as well imo.)

Dixiestampsagain · 03/01/2018 22:27

How about Kate, Sophia, Elisa, Elizabeth as middle name ideas?

TabbyCat864 · 03/01/2018 23:04

Like it

I love Lara Isabelle. Isabelle is better than Isabella after Lara. I think if the first name ends in an ‘a’ sound then the second name shouldn’t or it sounds a bit sing-song.

Such pretty names though. I’m sure whatever you pick will be lovely.

And I agree with PPs that there are a lot of Australian women in their late 30s called Lara. Not sure why that is, but that doesn’t make it a bad name

SuperBeagle · 03/01/2018 23:41

Not a fan of Lara. I'm also Australian and know several adult/middle-aged Laras. It seems outdated to me.

I do like Isabella though.

SilverBirchTree · 04/01/2018 01:47

All the Lara’s I know are lovely and successful women if that helps. Smile

SilverBirchTree · 04/01/2018 01:48

I love Isabella but every second child on the playground seems to be some derivative of Isabelle at the moment.

RavingRoo · 04/01/2018 01:52

Lara and Olivia are both a bit too dated for me. Love Isabella though

PasstheStarmix · 04/01/2018 06:24

I personally like names that are alittle dated as it means there won't be loads of Lara's in your child's school. Who wants a common name that loads of other children are called anyway?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/01/2018 11:25

Lara Eloise.

lynmilne65 · 04/01/2018 11:54

👍

buttercup54321 · 04/01/2018 15:07

Lara Olivia is lovely.

Alisvolatpropiis · 04/01/2018 16:53

I know a Lara Eloise, Sugar, wonder if you know her too?

I love the name Lara.

Lara Antigone is my middle name suggestion.

Ceebs85 · 04/01/2018 18:13

Definitely Lara over Olivia! Love it xx
