Hi, what does everyone think of the name Quinn for a girl? I love it but when I mention it to people they just say it's a boy name.
I'm team yellow but just trying to think of names xx

I've never heard of quim either and doubt many people let alone kids have ever heard of it.

There are far worse teasing associations eg William -> Willy and still people name their boys this.

seven201 · 02/01/2018 12:06

I've never heard of quim?

I taught a lovely female Quyhn (actually can't remember the exact spelling but I'm sure it had an h and y in there somewhere)! I really like Quinn as a name.

HuskyMcClusky · 02/01/2018 13:11

I know a little girl called Quinn. Not a fan, tbh.

I also know a 5th child called Quinta.

pipilangstrumpf · 02/01/2018 14:04

Quinta is much nicer and much more feminine!

DangerMouse17 · 02/01/2018 14:07

I know a boy named Quinn. Never heard of it for girls....

Name reminds me of Quinn in homeland....although it's really his surname

Mrsknackered · 02/01/2018 14:11

Love Robyn.

I also thought Scandal fan before quim! Wink

NoNoCharlieRascal · 02/01/2018 14:16

I like Quinn and have only heard it for girls.

Quim on the other hand I had never heard before.

Children will always find something to take the piss out of. If it's not a name it's your hair/clothes/glasses/face/anything. Unless you call your child Fanny or have initials spelling N.O.B I wouldn't worry to much about teasing.

WaitroseCoffeeCostaCup · 02/01/2018 14:37

Quinn was my DS1 Son's name if he was a girl Smile

HuskyMcClusky · 02/01/2018 14:37

Please no more Robyns. I hate it. (Yeah, I know, just me). And the only nickname is ‘Rob’ - so masculine and unappealing. Sad

FundayMorning · 02/01/2018 14:38

I knew a Quinn (not sure how they spelt it actually), but it was a boy. Can't picture it on a girl.

Frazzled2207 · 02/01/2018 15:04

Fab boys name though I seem to recall a girl Quinn in Glee?

I think of Peter Quinn in homeland- def very masculine

lasketchup · 02/01/2018 15:25

I actually really like it. Never heard of quim before until just now! ConfusedBlush

AmbridgeGirl · 02/01/2018 22:43

I like it. I know a baby girl called Quinn and think it suits her.

thingymaboob · 02/01/2018 23:02

My niece is called Quinn (4 month old girl)
My second cousin is also called Quinn (9 year old boy)
I personally think it's a shit name

daisypond · 03/01/2018 06:14

I only think of quim - sorry. It's quite a strong vulgar slang word to me and is nothing like the more affectionate willy - for all sorts of sociolinguistic reasons.

Potteryprincess30 · 03/01/2018 19:37

love Quinn actually and think Robyn is a really unusual and cool name for a girl Smile

Potteryprincess30 · 03/01/2018 19:40

@nomorespaghetti that's where I first heard it too, Daria rocks so anything from that is ok with me Grin

MrsGrindah · 03/01/2018 19:45

No, just don’t. Don’t call her Fanny or Tuppence either.

FundayMorning · 03/01/2018 20:23

Isn't there an actress called Tuppence? She was in something corsety recently....

maitaimojito · 03/01/2018 20:49

I actually like it. It reminds me of the Quinn in One Tree Hill.

I’ve never heard of quim but it would put me off given the number of PP’s that have mentioned it.
